past results do not guarantee future returns. that said I am not sure mark can turn it around. he looked beaten at the end of last year. but its not impossible. to the op. if mark has 0 td's 3 int's I don't think he will be he starter. if he is it means geno looked worse and we are in for a long year. everyone give's rex crap for the whole "mark give us the best chance to win" last year.but the truth is,rex was right. mark gave us the best chance to win. it was not a good chance but it was still our best chance
Exactly right. Rex played Bart Scott and Eric Smith even though they were constantly torched the last 2 years--He's so loyal to his favorites that better guys with more upside ride the pine. Rex will go to the unemployment line uttering the words "Never mind our 2013 record, I REALLY thought Mark gave us the best chance to win!" And then query "Hey, Mark, can you loan me part of that $8M that Tanny and I GUARANTEED for you...after all, I always stated that you gave us the best chance to win."
In Reality. Period. Lets be clear, that is not to say it will remain that way, Geno Smith is a talented football player. Right now, Sanchez gives you a legit start at winning first four.
At least Kari never ran into a teammates ass. Intchez on the other hand? Haha, that's what he's known for. Get over it, kiddo. The scrub is DONE.
Would it really be so horrible for the future of the Jets and the development of Smith if Smith sat for the first 9 games or more this season rather than being thrown to the wolves on a team that, at least on paper right now, is not very good? I'm more concerned with the next 3- 5 years than September and October 2013.
We have to hope for the best every season, but fans just don't want to see Sanchez out there, even if it means throwing the sacrificial lamb out there to suffer (Geno Smith). I predict Mark will start at least early in the season while Geno watches.
Sanchwz gives you. Legit shot at 3-1 or better thru week 4. I heriting a good team, is better for Geno.
The answer to this question lies in Mark Sanchez performance over the 9 games. If he runs the Jets out to 1-8, which I think is a real possibility, then I think sitting Geno for 9 games would be disastrous for the future of the Jets. Somebody is about to take over the basement in the AFC East now that the Fins are moving upwards and the Bills are showing signs of life. We really do not want that team to be the Jets.
thats what it is, hobbes has been sleeping the last 12 years or so. i can really see and hear those pcs happening. however i really feel that the jets are done with sancho and he will be gone well before the beginning of the season. if he is in fact the starter this year it will be a really sad situation on the state of the new york jets.
It's not a question of the Fins ascension. It's a question of who you could see winning 4 games every year for the next few years. Right now, if Rex wasn't here that team is the Jets. The roots of being the cellar-dweller in the AFC East are pretty clear. It's the team with the crappy QB and not enough else going for them. 2004 - Fins (Feeley) 2005 - Jets (Bollinger) 2006 - Fins (Harrington) 2007 - Fins (Lemon) 2008 - Bills (Edwards) 2009 - Bills (Fitzpatrick) 2010 - Bills (Fitzpatrick) 2011 - Fins (Moore), Bills (Fitzpatrick) 2012 - Jets (Sanchez), Bills (Fitzpatrick) Now all the QB's who have made that list and deservedly so based on their performance are gone except for Sanchez. If he's the Jets opening day QB next year he's just going to add another line to the list with his name on it.
Except, in order to get onthat list, sanchez was at the epicenter of a systemic failure that rarely happens inthe NFL.
Shouldnt he have been cut by now? Mo Sancho +2? Do you mean to suggest the phags have been good for the last 12 years?
