Yea, I'd put us ahead of Dallas. And while the Steelers are the defending champs and have had to deal with injureis the bottom line is we are 4-3 and they are 2-4.
The rankings are fine. We have a good offense and a horrible defense and we are 4-3, sounds about the 20th best team in the league.
Did they watch the game last night??!!?? How can Dallas be ahead of half the league? They are a disaster.
Umm..so you would have the Jets ahead because of one week? What about the other weeks. Vikings lost only 2 games, at Chicago and at Buffalo. If winning in Buffalo is so easy, realize that is the best win we've had so far. Plus the Vikings are a half game better. If you believe they should be ranked ahead of Minnesota, you're delusional. KC is debatable. Dallas sucks though, Jets should be ahead of them.
Where would we rank on Madden??? Who cares about power rankings? They are meaninlgless in a sport that has a playoff system. All that matters is whether a team makes the playoffs or not. And then all that matters is whether you win the SB or not. Everything else only determines draft order. Somebody's opinion as to whether the Jets are, going into week 8, better than Dallas or not is like arguing how many angels fit on the head of a pin.
I think we go 10 & 6 this year and still would rank us around 25. We may suck, but we suck less than most of our opponents and we have a veteran QB and decent talent around him on O. That should be enough to have a winning record and still be a crappy team.
I read the ESPN Power Rankings every week. I have for years now. I enjoy the comments, nothing more. They are terrible. As a notable point, in their pre-season, and week 1 rankings they had listed the following, both times: #21) Arizona Cardinals #31) NY Jets Guess not fellas. That said, we're a spot lower than we should be. We are better than Pittsburgh right now. I wouldn't exactly rank Seattle 11 right now either. However, we are probably not better than Dallas. Their only problem is at QB. We're not better than KC, yet, but it's a lot of football left. Anyone who thinks we are better than the Vikings is insane. I said back in the preseason I was scared of playing them. They beat Carolina. They beat Washington early, when the Skins were supposedly good. They only lost by 3 to Chicago, by 5 IN Buffalo, beat Detroit like we did, and stomped a mudhole IN Seattle. Come on, we love our team, but the Vikes were legit last year. This year, they are in the playoffs, and making a run.
The Cardinals will suck until the Bidwill family gives control of the team to somebody whose head isn't firmly planted up their ass. Unfortunately for Cardinals fans, that ain't happening anytime soon.
