This was the same shit that was said last year when they got Culpepper. Getting a 37 yr old QB coming back from a concussion cannot yield positive results unless the QB is Joe Montana.
Every team in the league is beatable, granted some more than others. But where the Jets and Dolphins are concerned I see us sweeping them next season even with the addition of Trent Green. Yup, prediction to sweep this year. We will probably split wins with Buffalo and Pats though.
I dont know a 36 yr old QB coming of a concusion . I dont know if this makes them a threat . KC got rid of him for a reason... You know what makes them a real threat Ted Ginn  . Great pick up MIA .
The AFC east or the Jets should be scared of them? Its immaterial , evey season we play the Dolphs they always up their game when we play them. No matter how crap they are its always a good game and they make us work hard. TG going there makes them marginally better , IMO.
I think Kowie thrust see post #49 is that Green may be able to win games that normally the mammels would lose cause they could not score enough & he is a upgrade over whomever the mammals had in the past few years. If you accept that conclusion then you understand what he meant to say. It is just not against us but for there entire schedule so if you say Green translates into more wins it then it makes the AFCE more competive
Oh I got it , just putting a different spin on it. I understand his point , normally they will lose games 17-3. With TG they might be less of a push-over and maybe acuse the odd upset along the way. I just don't think that by adding Mr Green and Mr Ginn that they will be so much more of a threat.
In the NFL it is most unwise to under estimate the other side as that is how games are lost. Yes that is the theroy & has logic based on the mammal recent Os performance over the last several years
No the jets lines or not on par w/ that of the Pats, but they are in FAR better shape than that of the Phins... there's no "homerism" about it.
The guy played 17 games at blindside tackle for a 10-6 playoff team..obviously he was doing SOMETHING right. The first half of the year, Brick was about as impressive as a rookie LT can be. The second half of the year he appeared fatigued, his weight dropped and he was alittle inconsistent(Ever heard of the rookie wall?). W/ that said, he was FAR from a liability and has obvious talent that no one can deny. He is well on his way to being a very good LT, and has far more potential than Vernon Carey, who barely got on the field his first 2 years in the league, and is still inconcistent at this stage.
Its a safe bet that the fish will keep it real simple at first. screens, dump off or a little play action to test the water. the real thing that will allow him to be a threat is if Ronnie Brown can shoulder the load! Im actually happy they have green . He has to learn a new system and id rather have him behind center then culpper;who knows the play book by now!
Fact is last year before the season the Phins were a favorite to go to a SB. The year before we were. The only thing you can predict realistically is the Pats are the best team in our division and the Jets, Phins and Bills are all unproven teams with a lot to prove. Any one who thinks we are far superior to any team in the AFC based on what we did last year really wasn't paying attention. We were a very beatable, mediocre team that beat up on some awful teams. We were well coached and had no major injuries. We could easily play as well as we did last year have one or two injuries and win 6 or 7 games and come in last place. We may be much improved but we just have no idea and no way to compare ourselves to the Phins or the Bills until we see a couple of real games next year.
I agree that the BLOWFISH will be stronger and give us quite a fight in both games. It is going to be interesting for sure.
When our goal is to beat the Pats, we shouldn't worry about the rest of the teams, we were in the playoffs last year and now this year we need to have the goal to be contenders, while I don't think we are there yet, we don't have time to worry about the Pats and the Bills of the world when the big bad Pats stare us in the face
With your opinion, you'll be very surprised at Miami's strength along the D-line. Just remember these 2 names... Frederick Evans and Rodrique Wright. Both have drawn praise from Jason Taylor saying that they not only will be good, they'll be great. Those 2 will support the unit of Vonnie Holliday, Kieth Traylor, MAtt Roth, Paul Soliai, Chase Page and Jason Taylor. The o-line I will agree with because it is not proven. Entering the year, every position along the o-line will be different from last year.
so basically kowie with an aging qb, rookie wr and a rookie coach they should win 5 games, oh i'am worried.
the fish always get has beens and make stupid ass trades for sucky QB's, the will never learn, when they play us trent will have happy feet and crumble like the rest, who faced us.
