That's an infinitely terrible deal for us. Our need for a 2nd CB is nowhere near worth the value of David Harris, especially for a guy that would make our contract situation entirely untenable if a cap were ever reinstated. Throwing in a 1st rounder on top of it? I'd curse Tanny if he made that deal.
Needs to fall out of the window 2 seconds after he falls from the window. That way, if the fall doesn't kill him, 10 lbs of processors and circuits will. Jtrain, seriously, stop posting here. You add absolutely nothing to this forum. Maybe you can start off in "Buy/Sell Tickets" and work your way up from there.
I'm calling you out right now MBGreen.....lets debate it right now.....Prove to me why each scenerio wouldn't work and I will not post on TGG until the start of the season
Anybody in their right mind would jump on such a trade offer. David Harris is 26 years old and plays at an elite level. He has ATLEAST 5-6 years of elite production left barring injury, plus maybe 2-3 more mediocre seasons.
i had to run for the Pepto Bismal after reading the first 2 sentences of your post....how the fuck do you expect me to get through that entire OP without throwing up all over myself.
Not that I wish to legitimize the OP, but I'm always interested in finding out what is going on in some people's minds. Why would Davis want Cotchery? He has a young receiving corps and values speed above all else. Why would we trade for Adalius Thomas if the Patriots are simply going to cut him? You think there's another coach and team he'd rather play for when the Pats discard him? YOU WANT TO PAY A GUY 30 MILLION FOR ONE SEASON!?!
Youre giving up 2 1st round picks and our #2 reciever for a 29 year old cornerback and a 2nd round draft pick. If you think a #2 29 year old CB is worth completely crippling our team in the draft youre nuts. Asomugah has 3-4 dominant years left. How long does Cotchery have left ? Plus the young 23 year old wed be drafting in the first round of one of the best draft classes ? Plus the down grade in the draft next year. That is flat out stupid . And the Giants dont want Rhodes so that wont happen. And you want us to give a draft pick to the Pats (OUR FRICKEN BIGGEST RIVAL) for a player theyre about to cut ? That sounds brilliant. Im sure pats fans are screaming on their boards "HEY GUYZ LETS GIVE THE JETS DRAFT PICKS FOR THOMAS JONES BEFORE THEY CUT HIM YA KNOW!"
I'll bite. You can't restructure Nnamdi's contract to a 30 million dollar payday in 2010. Regardless of who inherits the contract, it can't rise more than 30% in any restructure done in 2009 or 2010. His salary would increase by too much from 2009 to 2010. See you in September.
Pats would rather get a 6th rounder as opposed to cutting him and getting nothing...we are in the final 8 it is best to make a trade as opposed tonot being able to get him in the free agency Nnamdi is here to play....incase there is a capped season next year it will be impossible to afford him so we give him most of his salary up front.... Why would davis want Cotchery? http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...gha-to-new-york-jets-a-legitimate-possibility It is the two first round picks that will get his attention in addition other bloggers from other sites agree that it may work... "This trade will happen. There are too many Jets players being tossed about as trade possibilities. Vernon Gholston, David Harris, Kerry Rhodes, Braylon Edwards, and Jerricho Cotchery have all been named as possibly being sent to the Raiders. why Al Davis would want Gholston is beyond anyone's reasoning." said another blogger from this forum http://san-diego-padres.groups.cbssports.com/mcc/messages/chrono/20221693/0/0/20251642
Well obviously the Pats would rather get a pick then nothing, but wouldn't the Jets rather get him for nothing then a pick?
I'd give the Pats a lit bag of dogshit before i'd surrender ANY pick to them...especially when we might not have to in the first place. using Bleacher Report to backup ANY argument = massive fail
Did you realize that neither of those articles say ANYTHING about Al Davis actually WANTING Jerricho Cotchery? The 2nd one references the first one, which (typical for Bleacher Report) is completely devoid of any sort of journalistic integrity or responsibility. You still haven't quit posting. You said if someone could disprove one of your points, you'd leave until the start of the season. Again, Nnamdi can't be restructured to a $30 million dollar salary number this season. Bye bye. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...ule-still-looms-over-uncapped-year/?related=1
We are part of the final 8, correct me if i'm wrong but isn't it impossible to certain people in the free agency....I rather we pick up Antrel Rolle in the FA and throw them a meaningless 6th or 7th round pick that we will more than likely cut anyway ....
