that?s my dilema, i either have to bench my top scorer, or i have to start a RB, that plays the Ravens-D. And i don?t really like any of that posibilities. But i think i go with Edwards, as N2K advised!
Here's a tough one for the fanatics out there. What WR3 should I start? Brandon Marshall, Shaun McDonald, or Jacoby Jones? And should I possibly bench Larry Fitzgerald for one of these guys. I hate that he's going against Baltimore secondary but I can't stomach benching him.
I wouldn't bench Fitz, no way! Baltimore is actually (and I know it's early in the season) a middle of the pack pass defense. Tough choice on the #3 spot, I would rule out Jacboy Jones, thus leaving Marshall and McDonald. McDonald has had the better season thus far, but is still 4 deep on the depth chart, and I just don't know how long he'll be able to keep it up, even with the massive aeiral assault the Lions lay down. Marshall on th eother hand, I think will be seeing many weeks in the 50-75 yard range (and has had 5 catches in the first two games, if that matters in your league) So basically I think Marshall, while not as likely to put up a big game, will probably be more consistent and reliable.
I have a few tough calls of my own this week: Brett Favre vs. San Diego or Matt Leinart vs. Baltimore? Favre had a big week last week, but knowing the Favre of recent years, that means he's going to do shit this week. And Leinart, although the Ravens statistically are middle of the pack regarding pass defense, they just scare me. Clinton Portis vs. the Giants or Cedric Benson vs. Dallas? Portis has done well the first two weeks, and the Giants have given up some decent yardage and 4 rushing TDs so far. Benson, though, seems to have broken out last week, but the Cowboys have yet to allow a rusher into the endzone.
I'd go with Favre. Favre is the more talented QB and Green Bay has more momentum. Both defenses are tough so I'd just go with the better overall guy and that's Favre. This one is easy. Portis all the way. Washington loves to run and the Giants can't stop the run. Hell, I would start Betts this week if I needed a spot guy. Thanks for the WR advice, by the way. I was leaning towards Marshall too.
2 part question, QBs & RBs... I need 1 QB: Favre vs SD Garcia vs StL Campbell vs Giants & 2 RBs to fill my 2nd RB slot & flex position: A. Green vs Ind J. Lewis @ Oak T. Jones vs. Miami The best players are obviously Favre, Jones & Green, but some of the highly favorable matchups can be high risk high reward.
Cambell vs. Giants...hands down, Big Blue's secondary is terrible they won't be able to cover Randel El and Moss. Go with Lewis and T. Jones also.
Man, with the QB situation, it's the lesser of two evils. I'd go with Favre, Leinart hasn't done much to teams with lesser defensive capabilities than Baltimore. Brady made the Chargers' passing coverage seem vulnerable...I dunno if Favre translates in the comparison... Washington will be throwing against the Giants. The Packers did it, and were successful and so was Dallas, why stray away from that? Portis won't get as many touches, however when he does the defense will be back protecting the pass and he will make it hurt for a 30 yd run, mark it down. I'd give Benson a run though, he is the only threat Chicago has.
Need a WR3 since Andre Johnson (my stud thus far) is out: Toomer vs. Washington or Stallworth vs. Buffalo I'm leaning towards Stallworth cause the Jills suck, but he looked terrible last week (bad routes, dropped passes) and now he's hurt. Also, Washington's pass D isn't the best.
Jeez - isn't there anyone on waivers? I'd go with Toomer cuz Plaxico might not play. But neither choice is very good and I would never start Stallworth.
I'm thinking about picking up jason avant WR Philly (my sleeper) or nate burleson...I just got a feeling about avant...that's the best available.
Don't bother. Those guys are even worse. What about Jacoby Jones? Randel El? Shaun McDonald? Are those guys available?
i?d throw in Mohamed, too. Dallas pass-D is a mess, he could have a really good day! Roydell Williams is also a guy, i would think about starting this week against NO pass-D
Not a one of them is still around...this is my money league, and all ten of us are hardcore...there ain't no sneaking past any of these guys, so I think I'm gonna go with Toomer because of Donte's injury.
PPR-League. I already decided to start Maroney (@Cin) and Edge (Pit) at RB, but i need help for my 2 WR spots and my R/W-Flex spot. so basicly i need 3 out of them: Roy Williams (Chi) he has a brutal Matchup, but he?s just to good to sit Bernard Berrian (@Det) he has a great Matchup, but he didn?t play really well, and i don?t trust Wrechs Grossman Braylon Edwards (Bal) tough Matchup, but he?s their best weapon and he should get many looks. But i don?t trust Anderson against Ravens-D Vincent Jackson (KC) Had a good game last week and has a good matchup, but i just don?t like starting him, with all the other opitons i have Rudi (NE) He?s banged up an has a brutal matchup, i hate to start him. Lee Evans (J-E-T-S) somehow i got a feeling, he?s gonna have a breakout-game Greg Jennings (@Min) i like him, Farve should look more at him, than last week and with the good Minny run-D they will throw 45-55 times. i tend to start Williams, Jennings and Berrian. But Edwards, Jackson and Evans also could be worth a start.
Actually now based on some research, I would start Williams, Edwards, and Berrian. Rudi hurt his hammy those are always tricky injuries especially for an RB
