I agree and I don't see the logic of some of the posts against this feeling. If your favorite gas station starts providing you with crappy gas do you still buy it just because you like the station? With the majority of the merchandise made in China and a front office that ignores the fan base, the relegation of somewhat affordable tickets to the stratosphere I see little reason to provide money to them. Notorious never said "I'm rooting for the Patriots next season" and not spending money on the team doesn't make a fair weather fan.
Maybe we should retain Schotty just so we can shake off some of these fair weather whiners. Go root for the pats front runners.
There's nothing fair weather about this. If Schottenheimer stays, that means the team has given up on the fans and told us to fuck off. Message heard loud and clear.
Now we see why Cotchery got out while he still could. This offense is NEVER going to improve with Brian at the helm. It is a shame that Brian has hampered Mark's career. Let's see what a new OC can do. Could it get any worse?
No it doesn't. It means that the FO and CS understand that the problems with the team do not start and end with the OC, which means they disagree with fans who think it is that simple. Should they run the team based on what the fans think, or on what they see inside the organization? Now of course I am not saying they have to be right, and the fans have to be wrong. But you are just being emotional to take it so personally, and to think that they should literally run the team based on some anecdotal impressions of what "the fans" think.
Funny part is, the Santonio blow up made people forget things. People conveniently forgot the rumors of all the receivers going to Rex and complaining about Schotty's plays. People conveniently forget Mason's comments before and after he got shipped out of here. People conveniently forget Plaxico being pissed and sitting alone on the bench in the beginning of the season because he didn't get any targets. People conveniently forget Brett Favre complaining about the play calling and being rumored to be changing plays in the huddle. Jet Fans..grow the fuck up and get a mind of your own. Stop regurgitating the nonsense your hear from so called "analysts" and "experts" on TV. If you watched the games, you know this guy sucks as a play caller. Stop lying to your own eyes. Keeping this guy simply means that you're more committed to trying to win with your guys than you are with putting the best team possible out there. If that's the case, count me out. And if you plan on posting that I'm a "front runner" or "fair weather fan", fuck you in advance. I've been a Mets, Jets and Knicks fan since birth. If that's not dedication, I don't know WTF is.
My form of protest, should Schotty stay, would be not to purchase or wear any Jets gear for the remainder of his tenure here. I also would be cancelling my ST and roll with the RZC only watching entire Jet games when they're broadcast locally.
People with pre-payed PSLs are fucked. If they don't re-up they lose their multi-$K investments. People who are on a payment plan can walk away though, the Jets can't really do anything to them
I gotta agree. Calling people 'fair weather' fans is nonsense, considering what most of us have been through over the years. Nobody's saying Schotty is our only problem, and getting rid of him will instantly fix it. He is definitely part of the problem, however, and its glaringly obvious, regardless of the blind support the organization has for this man. Spending a huge part of the cap on Holmes and then rarely targeting him is on Schotty. Running the ball on every single 2nd and 3rd and long is on Schotty. Poor clock management is on Schotty. Designing plays that take a long time to develop when he knows our offensive line hasn't had good protection is on Schotty. Failing to adjust the game plan is on Schotty. Running out the clock everytime we're down 14+ points is on Schotty. The Giants game loss is directly on Schotty. I just find it unbelievable that the fans are the only ones who can see this.
Definetly sounds like a trick bag doesn't it. Maybe that's why Woody has such a hardon for the PSL's as they know they'll have a captive fanbase that couldn't walk away no matter what the circumstances are.
The Knicks haven't won a ring since I've been born. They ran two of my favorite players out of town and in the case of the last one, brought in Chris Duhon to replace him. I think my loyalty is pretty damn strong.
Everyone who disagrees with the organization and gets fed up and says things they obviously don't mean out of frustration is considered a fair weather fan. We all wish we could "stick it" to these dumb asses who run the organization and walk away and to a large extent a lot of fans have. The stadium is NEVER full. Not even for the game against the Giants, for crying out loud! What is that telling you? I for one am fed up with this regime. I don't want to hear about 2 back to back AFCCG's anymore. What the fuck does that mean? We never even win the mother F'n division! Rex is a fuckin embarrassment. His little boy who cried wolf bullshit is so fucking old. Do you really think the players are going to buy into his bullshit anymore? The shine is off his star. The guy is a fucking coordinator not a HC. Am I the only one appalled by his statement of "i didn't have the pulse of this team"? What HC doesn't know what's going on with his football team? If i'm an owner I fire him for that statement alone! The guy is fucking clueless.
yeah, because people have the social, emotional and identity connection with gas stations as they do professional sports teams. why don't you go do some reading on the psychology of sports viewership and attendance to understand why people watch sports and make connections with sports teams, it would save you the trouble of making outright dumb fuck comparisons that have no merits to the real world.
Wouldn't "fair weather" fans already have started rooting for the Pats or another team? Fair weather fans don't complain. They just find new teams to root for.
