Sorry, re-reading what I posted I did appear to be putting words in your mouth. I was only making examples as pure examples of good and bad arguments. I didn't mean to imply that these were your arguments, per se. As for Eli, if you watch his games, a lot of his passes are on the mark, and his receivers drop them, or tip them into defenders' hands. I'll accept that Carr would have been better off not getting that pounding that first year, but it was an inagural year, the number one guy is going to be starting.
Damn, I can't take it back now, so it's spilled milk. I honestly did mean to read more like: "Something is obviously wrong with him, and in my opinion it's physical." But as usual, I type faster than I think. So oh well. As far as the skirt comment, no it does not equate with the noodle-arm name. The noodle-arm persona is a perception that under no circumstances, can nor will Chad ever be able to throw anything but floaters. That is clearly not true. When healthy, he throws darts within 20 yards. Over the past three games though, he is floating passes. Plain and simple, he's throwing like a girl. Until he is throwing the same darts he threw in the first 4 weeks, I'll continue to believe something is wrong. Whether it is physical or mental is the only thing I see is clearly up for debate.
i don't agree with starting kellen unless we're completely out of the playoffs. Mangini isn't coaching for a "high" draft pick. He's coaching to make the playoffs. who is a better QB. Penny or Kellen? right now, its' penny. who gives him the best chance to win, P or K? Penny we are in the playoff hunt, why start a rookie qb. odds are he won't win games. (especially with this team) it's not a fact, but the odds are against him. makes no sense to start him now. maybe next year. worry about that then.
I'm late in the thread. Chad is winning, that is really all that matters at this point. Philip Rivers benefited from sitting on the bench.
I don't think he's hailed as a golden god as much as you think. But like many fans (including myself) I think he has the tools, talent, and mind to get the job done here. While his mid season stats are somewhat even Chad HAS.... HAS proved people wrong about his abilities. I don't think he's earned the title of being a Veteran either. I guess more than most of our team. I'm sad I fell out of this thread too. I missed the last two pages of fun.
