Ok, i may get a lot of Flak for this, but I am in a 20 team espn league. The only reason why i am in it is because i am also part of a 16 team/AL ONLY espn baseball league and its the best time fantasy wise i have ever had, anyway here is my team...and defense plays a huge role, it is like a real team. Please tell me what you think. QB-Eli Manning RB- Joseph Addai RB/WR- Reggie Williams* WR- Donald Driver WR/TE- Terry Glenn TE- Tony Scheffler DT- Kevin Williams DE- Aaron Kampman DE- Derrick Burgess LB- Jerimiah Trotter LB- Ernie Sims LB- Angelo Crowell CB- Ronde Barber CB- Nick Harper S- Kerry Rhodes S- Darren Sharper DP- Tedy Bruschi K- Joe Nedney P- Craig Hentrich HC- Mike Nolan Key Bench Players: QB- Jamarcus Russell RB- LaMont Jordan WR- Brandon Stokley TE- Ben Utecht This is my first time in this type of league so your help would be appreciated
In an 8-team league, I think that's a pretty bad team. 2 WRs from the same team isn't such a good idea unless it's like Harrison/Wayne or CJ/Housh. Overall, I don't think your recievers are very good anyway. I'm not a fan of Housh as a #1, and Coles isn't very good unless it's a PPR league, since he's never been known for his TD skills, and Cotch is just a #3 reciever.....in a 12 team league, unfortunately your in an 8 teamer - he should not be starting. My bet is by the end of the season, you'll be playing Clayton. Runningbacks are solid, although I don't like Maroney, I am avoiding him at all costs, but you should do well switching him in and out with Jones depending on match ups.
I'm in a 10 team league and we keep 7 starters and drop one, to help with parity. Right now it looks like I'll be keeping: QB: Brady WR: Harrison WR: RB: Thomas Jones RB: Maurice Jones-Drew TE: Kellen Winslow K: Jeff Wilkins/Lawrence Tynes. DEF: BAL D/SD D Or does someone think Santana Moss should be kept over either Jones or Jones-Drew I'm probably gonna end up keeping Wilkins. But I'm not sure about the D. They were both big producers last year for me (Spec Teams counts: BJ Sams, and the Chargers were turnover/sack machines). However, hardly anything is the same in San Diego, and Adalius Thomas is gone in Baltimore, who I think was underrated last year for them. Any advice? Start 1 QB, 2 WRs, 2 RBs (or 3 WRs 1 RB), 1 TE, 1 DEF, 1 Kicker My future hangs with the draft, as I need a good WR to fall to me somehow.
Here is my team in a 10 team yahoo league, any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated. 1. (10) Joseph Addai 2. (11) Brian Westbrook 3. (30) Marc Bulger 4. (31) Reggie Wayne 5. (50) Baltimore 6. (51) Laveranues Coles 7. (70) Braylon Edwards 8. (71) Jeremy Shockey 9. (90) Carnell Williams 10. (91) Mark Clayton 11. (110) Shayne Graham 12. (111) Chester Taylor 13. (130) J.P. Losman 14. (131) Matt Jones 15. (150) Ronald Curry
Thanks for the imput, hopefully cotch has a bigger year then everyone expected. One thing i forgot... i have baltimore and chicago as my defenses, so that should help since defense gets plenty of points in my league
Alright guys got a team for ya in a 10 team format: QB: Donovan Mcnabb Backup: Penny. On Mcnabbs bye week, jets play the giants and i really think penny is gonna shred that shitty secondary up. RB: Larry Johnson RB: Clinton Portis Flex: Jamal Lewis WR: Marvin Harrison WR: Reggie Brown WR: Darrell Jackson TE: Vernon Davis K: Adam Vinitieri Guys I value your opinion any feedback would be most appreciated. Def: Cowboys Bench: Joe Horn Lamont Jordan Jerry Porter And yes...Priest Holmes
My first time doing a fantasy team, 12 team league. QB- Mcnabb QB- Alex Smith- not sure which QB to start. RB- Maroney RB- Addai (B)RB- Deangelo Williams (B)RB- Turner (B)RB- Leon Washington WR- Roy Williams WR- Santana Moss WR- Braylon Edwards (B)WR- Ashley Lelie TE- LJ Smith (B)TE- Heath Miller K- Mike Nugent San Diego D. Not sure how I feel about it. I think its decent. QB might be a problem.
Baltimore and Chicago definately boost up your team, especially if D/ST is important, as you say. But why hold onto both of them? Why not trade one off for a player. Baltimore and Chicago are both must-starts every week for defense, regardless of opponent, so you really wouldn't be hurting yourself by getting rid of one of them, might as well get a player that will contribute every week.
Very good team for your first time drafting. Addai/Maroney is a wierd combo to have in a 12 team league. One of them obviously fell a bit. Williams is a nice backup RB. Roy Williams I'm iffy about this year, I'm not sure if his production will be better because of more single coverage, or if it will be worse because of CJ stealing grabs. Santana is too inconsistent for my likings, but I think he'll have a good year since I'm a big fan of Jason Campbell. And I really don't know what to make of Edwards, but he'll definately be worthy of a #3 spot. You'll definately be starting McNabb just about every week, given he stays healthy. Last season before his injuries he had the highest points per game of any quarterback. If the guy never got injured he would be the clear cut #2 fantasy QB.
You aren't sure what QB to start? Come on, man. McNabb is probably the 6th best QB this year and has the potential to be 3rd best if he stays healthy. Alex Smith is a longshot to crack the top 10. Overall, your team looks solid. Your weakest point seems to be WR, which is the right position to be weak at cuz you can always pick guys up.
It's the same injury that knocked McNabb out last season. He claims that his knee is at 70% right now and there's still a month of recovery. Andy Reid supposedly has been very happy with his performance in training camp. I think he's gonna be very solid this season so long as he doesn't re-injure himself. Either way, as long as he is taking the field, you have to start him over Alex "Hand-Off" Smith.
How about this team: QB Ben Roethlisberger WR Larry Fitzgerald WR Laveranues Coles WR Santonio Holmes RB Steven Jackson RB Thomas Jones TE Vernon Davis K Mike Nugent DEF Dallas BN Jon Kitna BN Jerious Norwood BN Anthony Gonzalez BN Owen Daniels BN Leon Washington BN Oakland And I'm thinking about trading Holmes and Jones for Addai and Javon Walker. Thoughts?
Love the RB's, twin. Recievers are a little lackluster, they could use some work. And Big Ben is starting and on the bench?
great team, probably the best i?ve seen so far this year, RBs are amazing. i like big ben a lot this year. only WRs are a little thin after Coles, but holmes should be serviceable, i?m targeting him as my 4th WR in the 8th-9th round. The trade is a nobrainer, you gotta make it before the other guy realizes, that Addai>Jones and Walker>Holmes, you win on both positons, without any downside!!!
Solid team but weak at WR. I would do that trade in a second. In fact, if I was in that league, I would veto that trade. Addai is top 5 and Jones is top 15. Walker is top 15 and Holmes is top 40.
Yea, there is virtually no chance that trade gets done if there is a veto system in place. But if you can make it, don't hesitate. Hell, I hope you've already made it
