The problem is: A- The concentration of where it’s happening-our entire receiving and cornerback corps. B- The frequency of which the injuries are happening. C- The type of injuries: tightness in a WR ain’t good. Odds are it will linger, and it could lead to tears. Funny enough, 4 guys who play a receiver position had the same issue yesterday and needed to be pulled.
You must have not scrolled down to the four teams right below the Jets in the alphabetical order. It's excessively bad for us, but a lot of teams are banged up. The 49ers have like 10 starters out, including the strength of their team which is all those defensive lineman.
The injuries are bad throughout the entire league. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.espn.com/blog/denver-broncos/post/_/id/36241/2020-training-camp-injury-fears-have-been-realized-for-some-nfl-teams?platform=amp The Broncos had 12 people not practicing the other day. The Bengals, the Texans, the Seahawks, the 49ers, etc etc. The Chargers just lost Derwin James for 6-8 months. The Cardinals have both Kenyan Drake and DeAndre Hopkins battling issues. Dante Fowler in Atlanta is out. David Montgomery is out. Joe Mixon is out. Myles Garrett is out. Xavier Woods is out. Tyreek Hill and Sammy Watkins are out. The list goes on and on
Poor Pete, he gets another chance but just 3 days before cutdown. Not a lot of time to show much of anything.
I'd feel worse for him if he was far away and flying in from Iowa. He's literally like 9 minutes from camp if they're in the Meadowlands. 40 if they're at Florham Park.
Looks like Mims and Perriman are getting close. Moncrief makes a nice play. Crowder, Hogan and Cager back. Now the Jets have too many quality WR's! Berrios looks like the only one completely out today. Cuts are soon though. I wonder how they will handle the WR position? Going to have to cut a few of these guys, while also looking to see if any quality WR is released by another team.
I don't get the Herndon injury. Maybe someone who follows a bit more closely. Is it like respiratory infection/cold tightness or muscle tightness? Dumb question probably but I've never heard of too much chest muscle tightness (not saying it doesn't happen but seems to be an oddball injury).
There seems to have been some type of discomfort in his lungs either due to an infection or something of the sort. Structural was ruled out
If that's the case, can we get the kid an IV and send him home to watch the Price is Right while taking antibiotics for a couple days? Nothing hurts the healing process of an infection more than being active.
