Might wanna double check on that one. Edit: this entire time I was talking about Perriman. I have no idea how the Herndon and Perriman lines got crossed. Herndon might be more injury prone than Perriman so the point stands
I wanna like Gase, I do. And yup, he’s one problem. However, there’s reason to question if this one problem is causing an additional problem-injuries
Again 2 year sample size, Herndon played a full season and missed the 2nd season with suspension first than injury. How is that injury prone?
Remember, he was hurt in Miami. And I believe his name was often on the injury report list. Also, anyone know what’s going on with Jabari? Injury/time frame etc?
“Being hurt” and “playing in the game” are not mutually exclusive. Someone can be injured and also play. He’s been on the injury report quite a bit and if you go all the way back to his college career I’m pretty sure he missed a bunch of time we’re at the very least had a bunch of injuries. I love the kid, I think if he stays healthy and we can get a competent offensive coach he could be a top five tight end in the league. He’s just given me no reason to believe he can play all 16 games at full speed.
Mims being out this extended length of time for a hamstring isn't concerning at all. Hamstring and groin injuries are notoriously temperamental. The risk of re-injury is always extremely high. I'd much rather they err on the side of caution and let him heal up 100% than bring him back early and suffer a setback. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
Herndon is not reliable tore his knee in college too. Classic Mccagnan draft pick, the guy from the big school falls due to injury/conduct history
I meant it’s more concerning from a football perspective. He’s a rookie that already had a learning curve and now he’s going to miss the entirety of training camp most likely, with no preseason games to even catch his footing and he’ll get thrown into the mix at some point during the regular season. It’s just classic Jets, and this time it’s not even our fault. Although with how many injuries we have maybe it is our fault.
A hamstring strain and a broken rib all in the span of a little over a month plus a major injury in college just three years ago doesn’t compare to many players in the NFL let alone the entire NFL
C'mon! I know the injuries are frustrating and worrisome, but THIS is Herndon's 3rd season. Last season was a waste because of the suspension then injuries (one minor, and the other put him on IR and out for the rest of the season). He's been healthy in camp so far. It's not like he's been injured all the time.
I don't subscribe to the 'classic jets' stigma. There are plenty of other franchise across professional sports that have been MUCH more inept than the Jets. The NY media enjoys embellishing our shortcomings and certain fans who have an inferiority complex enjoy playing the victim. Injuries are up all across the NFL. We've been no more or less snake bitten over the years with injuries. It's a shame that Mims will likely be a non factor for the 1st half of the season. But if we're being truly honest with ourselves - relying on his immediate success was a foolhardy idea regardless. He should be an afterthought to Perriman, Crowder and Herndon. Those are the three skill players who need to be productive for us to have a successful air attack this season. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
