FWIW, I put it on slow-mo and if you look very closely the DE stuck a quarter in Brick's mouth.

    Kurt,

I saw what you saw on a couple of run blocking plays. He was moving out to the second level on 2 runs by Leon that I noticed. I was in a bar not focused on any one player and I saw this. How can others simply miss that.

  3. B/c people assume anytime things go wrong on offense that cant be explained...it's the OL's fault. And since Brick is the biggest name on the OL,he gets readily blamed for all setbacks

I think i was watching a different game than Kurt. :(

Brick looked crappy in pass blocking and run blocking. He got spun on. He got bull rushed; Always backing up into the QB. He wiffed on run blocks. Yes, I know he went into the second level on some plays, but the guy he 'shoved' always got back into the play. He rarely took his guy out of the play. I rewatched concentrating on the OL and he was HORRIBLE!!!!

Why do people keep saying that? We can keep him without paying him an extra dime.

Why motivate our better players by rewarding them for outstanding play?

That kind of penny wise pound foolish thinking is the fast way to a losing record. A strong organization recognizes and rewards performance. If players feel that the FO doesn't care about them they will me more concerned with avoiding injuries than picking up that extra yard that might just be the difference in the game.

What are you talking about? What "outstanding play"? He's an older mediocre player that we have under contract for three more years. Granted he's better than our alternatives, but that doesn't mean he deserves a pay raise. He just restructured last year. If he thought he was worth so much more, he could of said no to restructuring and dared the Jets to cut him. He didn't.

A strong organization doesn't give in to players who come whining for more money and intentionally tries to be an ass to get his way. You'd open the floodgates for every average player that has a decent year. I may of been less rigid if he wasn't being an ass and didn't have a track record of being an ass to get more money. Kendall wants to cause problem, fine, play him at center with the second and third string guys. We got him locked up for three years, the next two for very cheap. I literally would have him running downfeild on coverage teams before I'd cut him. :)

I guess I'm one of the few that saw solid blocking from D'Brickashaw and Clement and really saw the problem with the guards. Mangold held his own against nose tackle Pat Williams, but Kevin Williams really beat up on Brandon Moore all day long. It's not only that he overpowered him, it's that he just simply used defensive end speed rushes past him. Moore is so big and slow, I don't really see where this run blocking 'mauler' status comes from. When he's into the second level, and he can really hit a linebacker standing still. But his problem is at the point of attack in which he can't beat anyone off the line. We're in trouble when the undertackle lines up against Moore and he has to block him one on one.

That's my guess also, but I'm not willing to write the Jets off just yet.

Apart from one play that stood out i thought that Brick had a good game, he was reacting to speed rushes and he held his own pretty well i thought. Same with Mangold. I agree with JV where he says the problem is at the guard position, but lets be honest did anyone think that would not be the case. Both Clarke and Moore were getting beat off the line and the pressure was in the backfield before the ball touched the QB's hands a lot of the time. When we play Kendall at Guard it will get better, not sure what we can do with regards to the Moore situation though

The #s show we ran decently against Minnesota's first D...

Also, for those who say the D Line was crap... Peterson had a 43 yd run in which we missed 2 tackles behind the line... then they were 11-42 with the 1st stringers in.. not too terrible really...

By the way KurtTheJets fan I watched the game over and yes Brick played like SHIT. So perhaps you don't know much about football.

Funny thing about this message board and many others, if you don't post every second of everyday your not a big or knowledgeable football or Jets fan. I'd love to see an objective person dispute that.

I read this board everyday and funny thing is when the Jets lose I find myself reading a little more on here, I guess that's our mentality as Jets fans. I'll never forget what my father said when Vinny went down on Opening Day "I'm so sorry I made you a Jets fan, you've been suffering for 22yrs and be suffering for who knows how many more."

Bottom line and this is to all Post WHORES just because you post more doesn't make you more knowledgeable. SMARTEN UP
