The comparison to Johnson and Moss is being made because of size and speed..the rest he will have to do on his own but his potential is limitless. If he can learn to run precise routes he will be a starter for years to come.

Calvin takes an absolute beating going up and getting those passes. He's built like a truck, though.

If Hill is going to use his height and vert, then he's going to need to add considerable bulk to his frame. If not, then he's going to spend a fair amount of time on the injury report.

Team's are going to have to respect his speed. Send him deep and let Kerley, run an underneath route.

I agree that his route running is lacking, but made some great catches in his highlight video. That's good to see.

Wrong. I've followed his career since high school. He was always the #1 receiver in that draft class, but there were some wondering if he would run an elite 40 time at his tremendous size. When he ran the 4.35, it went thermonuclear, and he shot up to the top of the draft. #2 is historically early for a WR, and Calvin even had a shot to be #1 that year.

With their first pick on day 3 the NY Jets select Timmy Tebow. Yay! FB!

Going from 4th or 5th overall to 2nd ain't exactly shooting up the board.

I don't understand what history has to do the #2 overall. CRog, AJ, Fitz and Bray all went top three in the years prior.

I have followed Stephen Hill's career since he was in Kindergarten, and he doesn't like playing for left handed QBs. For what it's worth.

I've followed Stephen Hill's career since he was Fetus Hill and I can say with absolute certainty that he was separated from Calvin Johnson, or should I say Fetus Johnson, at birth.

Stephen Hill has been a massive success everywhere he's gone. As a sperm, he easily beat out thousands of other competitors for the egg. Do not bet against him.

I loved the pick, height, speed, and he blocks well. This should help Sanchez big time.

    this guy was brought in for three reasons;

1st he is big and blocks well
2nd he will stretch the field
3rd he has a huge possible upside

Wrong. Megatron was considered to be THE best prospect of the draft before his pro day. He didn't need his pro day to show how fast he was.

Yeah, everyone thought Calvin was a super beast. The 40-time confirmed it, and may have even been better than people thought.

Hill is more comparable to Demaryius Thomas. Thomas had a little more experience in college, but Hill is the better physical specimen and more explosive. And Thomas is a good player when he's on the field. 745 yards and 4 TDs in his last 7 games including the playoffs.

I'm really excited about this. Don't compare him to Calvin Johnson, Calvin was a monster in college and was a surefire star. Hill isn't that. Could he be? If everything broke totally right, it's not inconceivable. But he can be a big play threat and probably a red zone threat, too. If he's successful in making enough big plays, teams will be too scared to stack the box against us.

Megatron has 20lbs on Hill with the same height, speed, and vertical. Plus he catches everything thrown within 20yds of him. Let's hope Hill can be like that.

I forgot the point I wanted to post when I came to this thread. Hill said he picked GT out of loyalty since they were the first school to offer him. Hopefully that bodes well for the Jets when he is up for his 2nd contract as an All Pro WR.

I think he's a perfect fit for what the Jets want to do. Needs some work on the route tree, but at the very least he'll open things up for others.
