I agree, and I was just kidding with the "these are the Jets we're talking about..." line. We will win a championship with Mangini one day...just look at my signature :jets:

Ok, then we'll go to the MAAC, which seems to be a QB haven... Toledo has a great QB, and I think he comes out next year, and if thats the case, he'll be one of the top QB's... and Palmer won't disappoint, and will be a first rounder...

Think palmer, being from utep would be in almost the same situation as cutler this year. Probably very similar player as well.

I don't Utep actually went to a Bowl game, had a winning record and is expected to get much better...

Vandy (w/ Cutler) beat a Tennessee team that was terrible this year, and well... they beat a Terrible Tennessee team

Jets need a NT whether they stay in 4-3 or especially if they want to play 3-4.

I also feel like Ngata is the right pick. He's big and only going to get bigger. If A Jones was a RT, I'd say, lets hit D'Bricks, but he's not. Defense is closer to being premier, also don't want to expose Vilma to a second year unprotected.

Here's another scouting report on Ngata.

    Haloti Ngata
    Height: 6-5 | Weight: 338 | 40-Time: 5.08

    Official Bio

    Strengths:
Has outstanding size and a huge frame...Is an amazing athlete...Moves well and has excellent speed and quickness...Extremely strong and gets a great push...Can control the line of scrimmage...Can stuff the run and take on multiple blockers...Is not merely a space eater and can penetrate and rush the passer if given the opportunity...Plays with great leverage...Has the potential to be a dominant 3-4 nose tackle...Also a great kick blocker on special teams...Still has a ton of upside.

    Weaknesses:
Has an inconsistent motor and disappears for stretches...Needs to work on his technique and master the nuances of the position...Tore the ACL in his left knee and missed basically the entire 2003 season...Is not yet a finished product.

    Notes:
Was a premier recruit coming out of high school...As the "Planet Theory" says there are only so many guys in the world with his blend of size, speed and athleticism...A rare prospect with the tools to be one of the best in the league.

if we grab Cutler at #4 I'd be thrilled. You rebuild around a DB like him.

And here I thought I was wrong when some old-timer told me, "Hey, Cutler ain't no Quarterback, I thought I heard someone say he was a Cornerback... And we need a good Cornerback!"

So I've been right all along! We desperately need Cutler to fill in for Ty Law!

    Draft Cutler!

Hloti Ngata. Nope, sorry, I think the Steelers have dibs on all of the first-round talent with weird names for the next 10 years.

I was just thinking this myself. But then I remembered how bad our offense was. I don't think that we can afford to draft such a luxury position so high with our offense in the pathetic state that it is in now. We need a player who plays an impact position. Yes, they do say that the game is won in the trenches, but I think that it would be irresponsible to neglect the offense to draft a position generally not considered to have that much impact.

agree-cut Chad and his noodle and let's get someone who can stretch the field as qb. I think Coles and McCarens will be better if they can develop some confidence with a strong armed qb.

Haloti Ngata would be the worst idea ever. Sure he will probably be a good player, but we are rebuilding! You don't got NT with your #4 overall choice after deciding to rebuild. That would be a joke. I understand that some of you like him and all, but there is no way in hell we take a DT this year at #4 overall.

We need to go get a QB. I don't want to hear the same crap about him getting "the life" knocked out f him. I never said he would even play year one.

Jets need Jay "Cut'em up" Cutler

I would love to draft AJ Hawk, him and Vilma would wreak havoc on the opposition. I think there are plenty of decent DT's in the later rounds that can be found. Throw in the fact that there are a ton of sleeper QB picks in this years draft and we have a bunch of mid round picks and the makings are there for an interesting draft. I might be the only person here but I think we can win with Bollinger, at least for now.

Couldn't have said it better myself! With us releasing practically the whole offensive line though, I would take 1st. at #4 the QB and with the "high" 2nd take an OT and with the 3rd. a Center or Guard. Martin and Houston will be fine for a year. Its a 3 year draft project! I forgot about an Abraham trade. With that shore up the offensive line! Really have to see who is sitting there to see which direction we go.(RB or OL). To tell you the truth, it was just a couple of days ago when I realized that the Jets were serious about drafting a QB at #4.

Bruce Gradkowski, Toledo's QB, was a senior, and is in this year's draft, Early day 2 pick if he works out well.

As for Palmer, he's not as physically talented as his brother or Jay Cutler, so he'll need to put in some serious work with Mike Price to get himself near that level.

I....kinda.....agree. Not with the shave and shower thing but I can't fathom going D early. I said before that, although, our D does need help, if we concentrate on O early it kind of helps with the D too. Defense was on the field so much last year I think it made us look worse than we were. If we can manage to field some semblance of Offense next year it would give the D a bit more rest and, hopefully, productivity.

Trade down and give me Vernon Davis. I'd love to see him matched up with Charlie Whitehurst behind Max-Jean Giles and/or Mangold.
