Honestly, as far as the talent level, I think the drug use is so widespread that it won't really have an effect. The pitchers AND hitters are both doing it. What you might actually see is some mid-level clean guys become All Stars at the expense of "dirty" All Stars becoming mid-level guys.

There's apparently a huge misconception about Ortiz. He didn't "suck" with the Twins. He hit 18 HR in about half a season then hit 20, .272, and slugged .500 the next year. He was 25 and 26 years old in those seasons. The problem was that he had nagging knee injuries due to the turf.
