Donald Fehr is pissed!! He's supposed to testify before Congress next week (I think), so it isn't going to get any easier for him.
I really hate that guy. He represents so many things that I'm against. Justice is about to go on the air and deny the allegations, not surprisingly.
If anyone should be upset, it's Red Sox fans. We tolerated three years of .500 pitching from him, with occasional flashes of greatness (like 20 K's). Then, he leaves for Toronto and returns as a dynamo. In part, though, I'm grateful. Without Roger leaving Boston, we would never have traded for Pedro. I got to see some of of the best pitched games of the modern era thrown in a Red Sox uniform. That was alright. Gee. . . . I wonder if the Mitchell Report is corrent.
I'm not. I'm upset that Pettitte is on it especially in the circumstances that were listed. Even if they are true. Because it's related to the same trainer I have to be suspicious that anything he said is true. Even when he says he injected Knoblauch. Knoblauch?,,,wtf, are you kidding me? Is that when he started throwing the ball into the stands instead of to Tino?
i think the circumstances around pettitte make it a little less upsetting. or are you saying because of the reason he shouldnt be on the list? don
I'll say this for Don's skeptical arguments: George Mitchell should NOT have been the point man on this project. He has integrity, and I believe the report is unbiased, but perceptions mean something. The world has enough lawyers that we could have found someone else.
...and Selig got off way too easy....I think that points to a major problem... He should be forced to resign... he's an absolute joke... but nothing will happen to him because he looks like a 67 year old lesbian in a neck tie
Watched the union's press conference. Fehr talked like he had been kicked in the balls and had a problem catching his breath.
It's called anger... If he's telling the truth they held the report back from him so he wouldn't be able to respond to it today... that's IF he's telling the truth... BTW... Where you been Joe?
So this has nothing to do with baseball, this is entirely about your distain for the guy going back to mid 80's. I don't see why you are so upset there aren't any current Yankees other than Petite, these are all guys that played about the same time the Sox listed played. It's not like he said Posada, Mo, Cano, Melky and Wang. It's guys who have since retired or guys that we all anticipated. Are you really that upset about Randy Velarde being on the list?
It's not like the Sox got off easy. It SUCKS to see Mo Vaughn on this list. While it's not entirely surprising, it still sucks.
I was making a point that Mitchell isn't the great fair investigator that he's been cracked up to be... and no it's not about a grudge it's about baseball and a half assed report... that was based in the New York area by a guy working for the Boston Red Sox... I mean Mc Guire, Palmerio & Sosa weren't even on the report... how could anyone take this report seriously? I don't even think Mota was on it and he was suspended.... Mitchell even admits it's not a complete report... and IMO in unfair to release incomplete report that ruins some names when you know there's others, many others involved who will get off scott free...many others...
I think there are certainly problems with the way this whole thing was handled, and some of his arguments do have merit, but instead of blaming baseball for the way they handled it he seems to want to use it to "clear the names" of a few of his favorite players. That's the only thing I take issue with.
