I think you got him mixed up with someone else.

Mike White had zero starts for Dallas. He never threw a pass with them in the regular season. Sunday will be his 7th start, all with the Jets

Last time we played them it was Dak. The time before that it was Kellen Moore, their current OC.

Actually what's ironic is the same reasons given for White not winning games they could've won are the same reasons that were dismissed by the anti-Zach crowd.

And we can't say for sure whether we would've won one or both of the Pats games with White. I do agree that they should've put in White in the second half in the second Pats game once it became clear Zach just couldn't get it done. Would White have gotten them the win? Maybe? We can't know. I also agree that White is the better QB right now, but it's not like he's playing flawlessly or doesn't have his own concerns. Somehow these are all overlooked or excused away with the same "excuses" applied to Wilson.

The team seems to have rallied around Mike Fuckin' White. but somehow, despite that support they haven't been able to win two winnable games.

You can say the same thing about Zach because he actually did run an effective enough offense and got 5 wins despite "poor" stats.

I agree that MW hasn't been given any favors with the OL play and some spotty play from the receivers aside from G. Wilson, but he has also made some mistakes, as has everyone including the CS. They need to get these things ironed out of they hope to get to the playoffs.

All due respect I don't think you're following my logic. I'm saying that 4+ years as a pro, practicing, playing in P.S. games, sitting and holding a clipboard, being part of the pro process is better than less than 2 years of that. Not to mention being 4+ years older. All the credit in the world to MW for applying himself, never giving up, staying ready and focused, and it's paying off for him now. It's clear now - in hindsight - that Zach really needed to sit for a while and not be handed the job, and had he sat he could've learned a lot that he needs to know.

Very true. That’s a fact. White lost to Buffalo last two times. Also a fact. Neither has any bearing on what his point was.
He has said repeatedly that White is a better option, but the five wins are still five wins, and if don’t add a few more we will blow a golden opportunity we have been waiting for over ten years.

All the data says that a team pretty much should give up on a QB if they play around a league-worst level during their first two years. Sure, Zach hasn't played an entire 2 seasons, but he almost has, and the only reason he hasn't is because he got benched for playing so badly.

The odds of a QB ever becoming good when his first two seasons were this bad are tiny, like less than 5%. I remember this data vividly from when we were trying to figure out if we should move on from Darnold after his 2nd year. That's the data when considering a sample size of hundreds of highly drafted QBs - the vast majority of whom played on bad teams and could've had the same exact excuses people make for Zach. Nobody is saying there's 0 chance Zach improves, just that it's statistically highly unlikely. QBs who end up being good overwhelmingly show more during their first 2 years than Zach has.

I also don't think anyone is saying White is some Hall of Famer, but he's been about average for an NFL QB, which is a gargantuan improvement from Zach's league-worst level.

It was clear as day that we won many games this season despite Zach, not because of him. It was also clear that he was a big reason for most of our losses. White has not been the glaring limiting factor in our team's success that Zach was.

So is that mean Wilson is a better back up option right now.

I didn’t say the S word just pointing out the people who think Mike white is the reason we haven’t won the past two games are crying he could of done more. When I’m seeing him do ten times more than the previous guy. If that guy was still starting we don’t have a chance to win either game that’s just the truth. Also the coaching staff has let MW down over the past few games miserably and the Oline

The fact that we are still talking about Wilson tell you a lot.

The new standard is "he's better than Wilson." Perfect.

Does anybody really think any of the games Zach Wilson won as a starter Mike White also wouldn't have? I don't see how the two have even been comparable. Zach played some clean games, but not particularly impressive ones either. He also gave two games away with some of the worst QB I've ever seen.

I have questions about Mike White when it comes to him being a viable long term option, but I'm also not ready to place a ceiling on him. He's not gonna be Patrick Mahommes, but the possibility he can be an above average starting QB is not out of the question yet

I hope he's healthy enough to play these next 4 games because it'll tell us a lot.

I don't know why Wilson keeps getting brought into the discussion. I don't think anyone is arguing that he should be starting. Can he turn things around? IDK, but someone with his physical abilities shouldn't be written off so soon unless there's some other issues that the CS has identified, but they haven't mentioned anything like that.

And frankly it was NOT "as clear as day that we won despite Zach". He made some big plays when he had to, plays that maybe White wouldn't have made given he's not as mobile...I'm not saying that White wouldn't have won those games, but we can't possibly know, so not "as clear as day".

As to assigning the entire blame for those losses on Zach, do we also then assign the entire blame for the losses to Minny and Buffalo to White?

No because White moved the ball in those games.

Football is a team sport, so I acknowledge assigning wins or losses to one player can be an iffy practice. But the comparison you suggest is asinine. Curious if you actually watched the four games you referenced? The difference in QB play isn't on the same planet. Zach gets the majority of the blame for those losses easily, yeah. Mike White gets some blame, of course, but I don't get how anybody can watch those games and blame him for the loss.

    Asinine? Really?

Yeah, I DID watch all the games. And I've watched hundreds of games over the years and have seen plenty of times where a QB with "poor" stats won games because they made some key plays, and also have seen lots of games where a Qb had the better stats but lost because they failed to make those key plays.

I'm not blaming those losses all on White, but I am pushing back on the claim that Zach lost those games by himself. It's a silly argument at this point. Zach rightfully was taken out of the lineup - and should've been taken out a half earlier - and that leaves MW to show us what he can do. What I've seen is a QB who knows what he's doing and has the tools to do it, but also not much better than average, and also not without his share of the blame for the losses. I hope he can do better because if he can't the Jets likely miss the playoffs again.
