My fear is that if the Jets lose again on Sunday there will be a lot of pressure to rush Zach back. It would make it four losses out of the last six games and pressure starts to build when that happens. There is no way Zach has changed anything over these few weeks on the sidelines. I hope the Jets stick with White to really see what he has. It would be crazy not to because the goal is to get a competent quarterback, not to prove we were right to draft Zach at No. 2 overall.
They cant switch back to Wilson, this locker room is in Mike White's corner. Saleh would lose credibility with the team
Tow weeks ago the goal was to make the playoffs. Can’t sacrifice the team for one player. So if white gets obliterated against a defense that is not bottom 2 in NFL do you keep trotting him out there to see what he has? Winning is what matters. The team likes who wins. Zach was benched because of this comment after the game. White starts playing poorly he goes to bench.
I think this discussion will be moot and White will end up injured at some point with Zach starting the rest of the year.
If white pulls off a good game and wins he may solidify starting next year. If he loses, he won’t. It’s unfair though, the bills are a legit Super Bowl contender.
I get your logic on this but if Zach gets put back in if Mike White goes full ca-ca, he isn't winning any more than Mike White.
Truth is we lost a golden opportunity last week. White said it best. There are no moral victories. We had plenty of opportunities and stalled time after time. Whatever the issue is needs to get fixed ASAP IMO. All I know is when it comes crunch time in the red zone is a disgrace to watch them repeatedly 1st and goal at the 1 or 2 yard line and not punch it in. Is it too much to ask for Robinson or Bam and the OL to force it in. Also, with all of Zach’s woes, his mobility on the red zone was a plus, one more runner to defend, with Mike the run game needs to carry its full weight. MLF needs to tailor the game plan to give Mike and the O the best chance. There is a lot of hype going on right now, but truth is when it counted we didn’t get it done. Long runs and catches are exciting to watch but mean squat if we can’t punch it in. The team total performance Sunday will tell us a lot as to where we stand. I hope White has a very successful day, but it I’ll take more than him, the whole team will have to take it to a different level. Success to me is translated to team wins, that’s the ultimate stat.
Zach has been iffy all year and appalling in two of his last three games, hence the ‘reset’. You’re saying Mike White, who has outperformed Zach quite significantly, should be benched if he has ONE bad game? Flip-flopping QBs like that is a recipe for chaos.
The only time we did score, White did punch it in himself. Berrios dropped a pass he catches 9 out of 10 times. GW slipped up one on play and was clearly held on another. Bad penalty on another play when Berrios decided to go outside instead of inside. Conklin drops a dime on a two yard line. We need to execute better, that's for sure, I agree, and we need to get the job done and punch it, but I felt Mike gave the team a really good chance in the red zone. It didn't go our way this time, but if he can give similar chances again every game, odds are we will be winning a lot of them.
True about the mishaps. The support cast short of Wilson and Davis was much better at wearing his T shirt than making him look good. The run by White with the whole team pushing behind him was shear brute force as he was stoped well behind the line. Blocking was not there. Great kudos to him for staying upright. But it begs the question where is our ground and pound running game. Running effectively in the red zone is key to solve most of our woes and making the pass less predictable. Offensive performance like that one will get us killed in Buffalo.
Mike was stopped initially, and then made an adjustment and went to his left to get a TD. It was a good play by him, and of course the team also to give extra push. Running game sucked no doubt, but this is mostly due to OLine. Tomlinson and Mitchell were bad. By the time Fant came in, we were down by a lot and had to throw. Maybe with Fant in we can run to the right some finally.
The absolute balls on this guy. Really gritty performance from him. I thought he was fine considering he was playing with some type of rib injury. If Carter doesn't fumble it's probably a way different ball game.
Everyone will see this and love them some Mike White, even if we didn't get it done. Lots of mistakes from those around him, that was a tough effort
Mike White earned my respect today. I didn't expect to see him return. Two plays cost us this game - The Carter fumble when we were marching down the field, and the CJ jump which shifted the momentum.
