After his 2nd miss I literally felt sick...Nugent almost single-handedly cost New York the game...7 points!! I could understand if it was a 48 yarder he missed...BUT 34 AND 30!! You have to be kidding me...I'm willing to wait a few games, but today was atrocious. Whoever has Nugent in the "adopt-a-jet" I suggest putting him back up for adoption.
I am an old kind gentle man, however I am a diehard Jet fan, as I watched him miss his kicks I damn near had a heart attack. Cut his balls off. Allentown Ernie.
I was very disappointed in Nugent kicking today. I am optimistic that he can turn this around. I believe that the following kickers are available though. Anyone know anything about them??? Jose Cortez Aaron Elling Todd Peterson Thanks.
He can put it behind him on the way to his job interview for whatever the hell program he took at Ohio for all I care...
In Nugents defense, he didn't get alot of practice on extra points last year. Those missed field goals were unexcusable though.
Peterson last year was: 35 for 35 on extrapoints and, 20 for 21 inside the 40 on field goals. Still think we should consider the "one more chance" scenario.
The knee jerk reaction is to say cut him.... but, the real test of FG kickers is how well they get over a bad game. His bad performance didnt cost us a game, fortunatley. I say he rebounds next weeek with a perfect performance. We shall see.....
Nugent made me sick to my stomach today. The preseason had me expecting more from him. Of course we wont cut him and I dont think we should, but Coach looked really pissed after that second missed FG. Those points are beyond huge.
I'm not so sure this one is a knee jerk reaction. He wasn't particularly sharp last year either. Plus, it's not like he's great on kickoffs either. I;d at least bring someone in this week and get some competition at the position.
He was pissed. Hes gonna make Nugent work extra harder in practice on his kicks. Hes a good head coach I beleive he will fix all the mistakes then went on.
