How does Nugent deserve a "second" chance? His second chances came today after a dismal season last year where he blew more than a fair share of kicks. Not to mention, he cannot kick to the endzone on a KO.

He's proven to be no better than last year. Second chances are one thing, but now he's on his third...

Give that boy a drug test I think he's been out smokin' dope with John Hall...

    Thank God Chad pulled through

On to the Patriots, it would have been real ugly if we blew this game

    Nooge : Choker

Need I say more? You know what happens if the Jets cut him though? He winds up being a great kicker and beats the Jets with last minute kicks. If he stays with the Jets he's a choke artist.

Oh dam...didn't see the Nugent thread...ack..where's the delete button?

Nuge should get ONE and only ONE more chance. If he pulls that shit again against the pats, I'm changing my avatar.

Nuge's head is all fu**d up. He may have the physical ability, but mentally he is not meant for the big leagues. Imagine him late in the season or in the playoffs. If he can't handle an opening game against one of the worst teams in the league, then it's time to say goodbye.

I don't care what he does after he gets cut, I just want him gone.

Just get some schlub off the street to kick.

He had a shaky rookie year and looks even worse now. It's tricky because he was a second rounder, but at this point, an ordinary kicker would be given the boot.

It would make sense to cut this POS former 2nd rounder. Make a statement.

He is a product of Bradway and should be made an example of.

    Too early. Too early.
On the road. First game. Mechanical movement problem. First time, real game time, under Mangini.
Nugent could end up winning half the wins this season for us.
Don't get too critical on the first win.
We could up needing him a lot more.
    Hold off...... before judging overall.

Didn't he miss one in the Opener last year also???

Maybe he just needs more pre-season work

If Herm was still around he'd get more than a few more chances.

Not saying reward him at all.
But, it is still too early to pass judgement.
If he doesn't refocus then I'd have to support changing.
And, looking at others is justified at this time.
But, I have faith that Nugent will refocus and come out stronger.
