Players who expose themselves to injuries are exciting, thus highly marketable. Rushing quarterbacks, hard-hitting safeties and linebackers, the "Iron Man," (pfft...) tough, physical running backs... These guys are exciting because of the way they play, these guys make the Madden cover because of the way they play, and these guys get injured because of the way they play.

Stop trying to rationalize and explain it. We all know it's a black magic curse. :)

If Brady had been on the cover last year it would only reinforce this. Seriously, it is kinda spooky. I mean I realize that madden cover guys are typically people who just had career years so down is often the only place to go. But still, you would think it would be the year after or two years after, and not the very same season after a few straight seasons of elite play. It seems like this happens every fuckin year.

I was seriously hoping they would start putting Eagles players on the cover. Here's hoping Michael Vick makes the cover of Madden 11.

He was already in 2004... he's one of a laundry list.

He already was on the cover maybe in 03 or 04

    Here is the list

Barry Sanders - retired so I guess he avoided the curse but the Lions have been ever since
(In later relases Sanders was replaced by Dorsey Levens who injured his knee and was realesed at the end of the season)
Eddie George- no real issues the year he was on cover but they came later
Daunte Culpepper - Vikes were 4-7 when Culpepper suffered a knee injury ending his season
Faulk- suffered an ankle injury and he didn't rush for 1000 yards (Rams missed the playoffs)
Vick - broke his leg the day after the game was realesed
Ray Lewis - nothing major but missed the last game with an injury and in 05 tore his hamstring and missed a bunch of time
McNabb- suffered a hernia and missed half the season
Shaun Alexander - broke his foot
Vince Young - suffered leg injury and missed time (hasn't exactly been a good QB either)
Favre - disaster speaks for itself
Polomalu - Knee injury ... out 3-6 weeks

Put Brady on the cover. (Seriously, though, I think it's all just a coincidence.)

I wonder when it creeps up on Fitz and takes him out. Every year when they announce the cover I feel awful for the player chosen

Mangini doesn't need to be on the cover to suck.
