Gruden won a SB with Brad Johnson, a middle of the pack, very accurate QB. The Jets OL is ready for a revamp. Give just about any QB consistent time back there and they can be successful. Their aversion to drafting accomplished wideouts must be corrected. It has been going on for years. Drafting Stephen Hill was a perfect example. Not a real wide receiver. Just a pile of tools. Every year we go to the draft asking for a top wideout and they simply ignore the position. A QB of the Johnson type is made a lot better when he is surrounded by talent. We are not getting a top gun. Unless we are drafting a franchise QB early in the first round, that is where we have to go. Geno has not developed, it seems clear now, but he has not been surrounded by very much talent. So we go the other route. Experience and accuracy surrounded by real talent, which can be bought and drafted.
