You're thinking of 1980, the year Todd threw 30 interceptions and the Jets finished 4-12 themselves. Despite the Jets record that year, it still remains one of the most embarrasing losses in team history. Are you aware the Jets also lost to the 1-12-1 Bills in 1968 (Super Bowl season), the 1-13 Houston Oilers in 1972, and the 1-15 Colts in 1991 (another one point loss at home). The Jets have a scary history against pitiful teams. One thing they wont have to worry about is duplicating what the 1981 New England Patriots accomplished. They finished 2-14 and lost both games to the Baltimore Colts (Weeks 1 and 16) who also finished 2-14. Imagine losing twice to a 2-14 team? Anyway, I still think the Jets will beat Miami next week......

The Jets have lost two games by 3 points, two by 7, one by 8 and two by 10. They too have only been blown out by Dallas and NE. The Dolphins are not a better team, they roster is completely void of any talent, the Jets are at least one to two seasons ahead in the 'rebuilding' process, I think. If you want to judge by the margin of losses, let's wait for the results Monday night. We beat the Steelers, I guarantee Miami will lose to that same team by at least 14-17 points.....

My point was everyone seems to think that Miami has been blown out all year and then claim that we were in and could have won most of our games.

Bottom line is Bad teams find a way to lose and these are 2 VERY Bad Teams.

We are totally devoid of Talent right now also , this Jets team has no more than 5 guys that are average NFL Starters.

Well, going into last offseason, I was thinking the Jets needed one more player at every position. In terms of talent today, there are still alot of holes with the QB position still unsettled as I don't think Clemens has shown whether or not he is the future. On offense, a tackle and at least one if not two big guards are needed for the line. A big WR is needed, and eventually a younger RB has to be brought in. On defense, a NT is needed, a younger DE is needed, another outside LB, and some more help for the secondary given Dyson's injury woes. What do they do with guys like Vilma and Robertson? They are solid players if they're in the right system. I just don't understand what the coaching staff is thinking right now. I think the Jets need another two solid drafts and a couple of solid FA additions. The Dolphins are looking at about 3-4 solid drafts and most likely another coaching change as Cameron has not shown he can win at all as a HC on the NFL level. Mangini at least has won some games.

The Dolphins are going to play this game tough. I would not be shocked if the Jets lose. If the offense continues to run in reverse, the DOlphins will win.

We MUST beat the Dolphins. We need to not be the team that let them not have a winless season. Jetblue, why can't you see that? Them going 0-16 will erase their perfect season. As a Jets fan, you get sick of hearing about how their the only team to go undefeated, now you can respond with "You guys are also the only team to go winless!!!!"

Yes, our season is already a disaster. The only thing that could make it worse, would be to lose to a team who hasn't won at all this season.

Is that simple enuf for those who don't understand?

    I agree 100%.

A winless season by the 'phins is something to remember...it will bookend the '72 dickheads.

I agree the Dolphins will probably play tough. The Jets need to come in prepared and play well for them to win. The Dolphins will want to win that game bad, and they will think it is possible looking at our record.

    Beating the Dolphins

Beating the Dolphins in the "TOILET BOWL" is what Jets fans are looking forward to now. How typical & how sad are the circumstances at hand. Beating the Dolphins is like tripping grandma on the way to the supermarket, anyone could do it, but whats the pleasure in it. Noone revels in the weak
    destroying the weaker.

The ironic/funny part is the Jets will probably have more fans in the stands for the Miami game than they did for the Steelers game. And by ironic/funny, I mean sad.

For them, they're also going to be looking at it as the last really winnable game they have on their schedule too. They're going to come to play.

I don't care how much they are paid, you think anybody on that team wants to be associated with a winless season?

That last line is absolutely ridiculous. We have above average NFL talent, we have playoff talent. We won 10 games w/ less talent a year ago and you dont'n 10 games in the NFl w/ talent as bad as you think we have. This isn't about lack of talent.

    Keep Drinking the Kool Aid.

Noone on either Line would be considered top 15 at their position.

WR - Coles is probably between 11 and 15 thats it.

    QB - you get it.

TE - Not in the top 15

Running Back - T Jones not in the top 15

Linebackers -- Harris will be someday but not right now

D Backs -- Rhodes maybe -- Revis someday maybe

Kick Returner - thats a yes

    Punter - No

    Kicker - No

Sorry but its all about Talent - or should I say the Lack of Talent.

I think I was being generous when I said 5 being average NFL starters most when compared to the all the other Starters in the NFL at their respective positions they are on the lower end.

I agree, to lose this game would be beyond terrible. But it could happen.

Lets look at the last 6 games for the Dolphins:

    @Steelers-Almost no shot of winning
vs. Jets- Possible win, at home vs. a 2-9 team who just lost by 31.
@ Bills- Another possible win, Buffalo is not that much better than the Jets.
vs. Ravens- Another team who is nothing special, it could happen for Miami.
    @ Patriots-No Shot at All
vs. Bengals- Another team who sucks, the Dolphins could pull that out.

So in reality, to me atleast, I think the Dolphins have a shot to win 4 of their final 6 games. A win in any of those would not shock me. The Jets are not the last hope for the Dolphins.

As I posted on 31/10, to lose to the phins would be terrible - if we only win one more game this season it MUST BE THE PHINS - if we save them from 0-16 we will be the laughing stock of the NFL!!!!!!!!!

I'll tell you what though... if they don't win one game with that soft schedule they'll be truely the worst team in NFL history.
