While gettiing after Cassel is Job #1, I also regard Welker as the biggest threat on the team. Moss is a close second, but the little bitch Welker absolutely killed us last time. He's the reason their drives continue endlessly. He's extremely crafty after the catch and knows exactly when to dive for cover. What we need is a Welker-specific game plan to obliterate this little weasel in the 1st quarter. Assign it as a job description. Paste a fucking bullseye on this bitches jersey and take him out early. Nothing short of knocking him out of the game will satisfy me. Then and only then can we expect to shut down some of their drives. Our LBs have to cremate this weasel early on.
This is true. We have won there 3 times since 2001, but we still have an inferiority complex to them. It's unfortunate because there have been teams that we put together that I felt could beat the Pats only to get demolished by them. Hopefully they get over that on Thursday.
Ha, hahahahahahaaaa.......! "Can't play with him on the other side of the ball. "Can't win with him on the other side of the ball. Can't do it." Actually, Bill Romanowski in his prime had the right degree of nastiness too.... breaking fingers under the piles, etc.
I wouldn't blitz at all. They can't run on us so I would drop our LB's back and let Welker catch the ball in front of them then light him up like he was at Rockefeller Center.
You've got to get low on this guy. Stand him up after the catch and when he tries to take his usual dive-after-catch, thinking he's going under the radar, greet him with lower pancakes. If we ring his bell enough he'll actually think he's ice skating at Rockerfeller Center on Xmas Eve.
The OL has more confidence and now pretty much knows what each other is going to do play by play. Now's the time to punch them in the mouth, keep it up, and run them over. Make the line of scrimmage green and white!
WOW you just got me PUMPED for this game....Even more than i already was....Good writing there man!:jets::jets::jets:
The Jets have to turn the corner on Thursday No truer words; if we are going to be a team that is serious about going to the playoffs this year, this is the type of game that sends a message about how good you are or aren't. As a team we are better than them personnel-wise, now we have to bring all together. The Pats still have very good personnel and until proven otherwise; their coaching is the best in the league. The Pats are always very prepared and they are able to adjust rapidly during the game. This is also a statement game about Mangini and his coaching staff; we can not allow ourselves to be out-coached.
Well, if we're sending 6 on a blitz, double teaming Moss, guarding Welker and Faulk tightly, they better not be throwing the ball to anyone else.
Long sustained drives is what the Jets need to achieve. Limit the opportunities for Cassel. That's what's gonna win this game.
