Totally agree but not sure Douglas has the nerve to cut Uzomah or Tomlinson since he signed them. They both SHOULD be cut, since they stink!
What WAS Douglas thinking when he gave Lazard $44M??????? Or Tomlinson $40M? Or Duane Brown #20M? Or Cook $8M? Or Uzomah $24M? Does anyone really think Joe "name your price, I'll sign the check" Douglas can get us out of this funk? Oh yeah, his drafting ability will save us--consider Becton, Zach, and McDonald as first rounders.
The expensive replacements are performing worse than the cheap-os he felt the need to replace Elijah Moore 2022 Jets: 37 catches 446 yards and 1 touchdown Joe Douglas spends $44 Million to upgrade to Allen Lazard Lazard 2023 Jets: 23 catches 311 yards and 1 touchdown Zonovan Knight 2022 Jets backup running back: 400 all-purpose yards and 1 touchdown Joe Douglas spends $8 Million to upgrade to Dalvin Cook Cook 2023 Jets: 292 all-purpose yards and 0 touchdowns Can't believe Joe Douglas gets to keep his job. Just a slap in the face to Jets fans
Do they though? Remember Van Roten? He stunk here too. How about George Fant? Chuma Edoga? Morgan Moses? All of those guys are not only playing solid, they’re actually elite. If you formed an OL with those 4 and CMG or Tippman at C you’d have possibly the best OL in the league. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with our players. I think our coaching and leadership in general is just awful. I think Tomlinson would probably be an elite OG on just about any other team.
You forgot this one. 2022 CJ Uzomah 21 catches for 232 yards, 2TDs $8 mill per year Ryan Griffin 27 catches for 261 yards, 2TDs $3.2 million per year JD extended Griffin twice too lol.
JD is inconsistent as heck, you can't deny dude has made some great moves. His scouting department has failed him, offensive line coach, Zach Wilson, Saleh - Would love for all of those guys to go. If a really good coach wanted to be here with JD, I would consider keeping him for sure. Anything not to have Woody not touch the franchise.
Woody wants continuity, but when you are offering continuity to a failed regime, all you get is continuous failure.
Again, when no matter how bad you are at your job, the boss says you're safe. Saleh and JD are practically bulletproof as long as Rodgers says he likes them. Rodgers has far too much influence but, since no one in the bldg. has more NFL credentials than Rodgers, he runs the show. I thought the Kotite years were the all time low. Silly me.
The games may be a failure, but the profits are still solidly in the green so continuity from a financial standpoint is working for Woody. Rodgers keeping the Jets in the news also makes Woody very happy.
we will hire Belichick in 2025 and will command 100% control over the football decision making - can't wait to have shit receivers again
You have to be successful first before anything can get "wrecked." Ulbrecht relies on the raw talent of our defense and can't scheme for shit. Hackett got run out of Denver for a reason. Saleh is just a cheerleader who can't make any in game adjustments at all. JD has constructed a good roster if you ignore the OL. Becton sucks. AVT on IR. Bunch of loser / backups on the OL.
You know…it’s super interesting in that those great Patriots defenses of the last 20 years are the exact opposite of what we are. They use players that for the most part are not superstars…sure they’ve had some great corners here and there, but really it’s mostly good to slightly above average guys. But they are so well coached that their defenses have been much much more than the sum of the parts. As evidenced by pretty much none of those guys who left went on and did great anywhere else. JC Jackson was the latest example…played well as a CB for the Pats, the Chargers signed him for big bucks, and he sucked and has already been cut. Crazy but goes to show great coaching can make a difference on D. Harder on O because you just need a QB and if you don’t have one, then pretty much no amount of coaching is going to make your O a top 5 offense.
He's the one who brought all those guys in. Literally his only job as GM is to bring guys in. If the guys he brought in failed, then he failed.
I knew they'd keep Douglas, Saleh & Hackett... but I thought they'd upgrade the offensive coaches. Todd Downing, Rob Calabrese and Keith Carter should be shown the door. They have done nothing to improve the play on the field. The coaching... especially the offense... sucks ass. It's right there on the stat lines and it's painfully obvious when watching the games. And I don't want to hear about injuries... this is about accountability. I've said it a few times already... Aaron Rodgers ain't gonna fix this shit.
