The hypocracy of Pennington lovers amazes me...

One of the reasons Favre is turning it over is we don't run the ball, we pass out of empty backfields all the time and we can't get anything outside the hash marks in the passing game. The Short middle of the field is gone and the short yardage run isn't available out of the empty backfield that means most of your passes are higher risk. They have to travel further sideways to get yards down the field, takes longer to develop or you throw into coverage in the middle of the field. Favre has done both an awful lot but it's no coincidence that since Denver stopped defending the outside and we stopped running in short yardage situations, Favre's numbers have sucked. What's Thomas Jones excuse for 2.4 YPC yesterday when Miami averaged well over 4?

Denver adjusted and every team has defended us exactly the same. We haven't adjusted in fact we have been more insistant on running our pass O into the teeth of the D rather than lining up with Two TE and running the ball.

Not excussing Favre who has sucked but Pennington INT to TD ratio went down terribly with the Jets when Paul Hackett was fired. Hackett for all his stuborness ran the ball and matched up and ran on stacked boxes and made the QB throw to open recievers or easy check downs. A lot lower risk, not much different than the O Miami is now runnning.

We have run the ball very well when we've run it but you have to pass too and when we do he turns it over and puts us in bad spots.

Now it's Thomas Jones' fault? he had one bad game and it's his fault? Leon averaged 6 YPC, that wasn't enough? Jones averaged just under 4 last week, 5.6 at SF, 8.6 vs. Denver but now it's his fault? We lost by 7, right? Did Favre throw an INT for a TD? That was the difference in the game, right? Then he threw away any chance we had on our last real drive. Fvare has been awul, he cost us our season. We can blame the D, RBs, WRs but the bottom line is the QB was horrendous.

Actually Bilicheat showed everyone how to stop our O in the second half of our second game. Tenn coaches were to busy sky diving into practice to implement it but every other team we played after NE did.

It's not Jones fault that he is a JAG, its the OC fault for not using him. If we run the ball instead of pass in those short situations, no pick right? If we have a back in even when we pass maybe the D is different? Maybe the QB has more time? Maybe the WR can have more time? The last several weeks teams didn't even have to defend the run in short passing situations because we had an empty backfield.

Jones is JAG who ran for averaged 4.5 YPC and scored 13 rushing TDs. The problem is not Jones being JAG it was Favre being BAD.

Jones dissapeared down the stretch 20 for 78 against Buffalo, 17 for 67 against Seattle and 10 for 23 against Miami. Jones had 3 big games Oakland, Stl and Denver. He is not a back that anyone fears including our own OC who doesn't even put him in the game in short yardage situations and prefers the INT machine with an empty backfield.

I think Jones is okay not as good as either Miami back but certainly wasn't utilized especially since we dished out all that dough on Faneca and Woody to run behind.

Nice. So we don't have more talent at the QB position? I could easily make the argument that our O-Line has outplayed yours all season long. They are easily more versitile the same argument could be made for our TE's as well. I'll give you the WR position, but by a very slim margin. Neither of those guys are impressive, especially with Coles on the downside of his career.

We really could go back and forth on this but it's more opinion than anything else. You think the jets are more talent laden and that's fine, I'll respectfully disagree that the talent gap is nowhere as large as you obviously believe it to be.

The entire team played uninspired, sad football. If for the Fins not executing on a few key plays the score would have been very different.

The only game he wasn't effectrive in was Miami where he only had 10 carries.

Jones was better than Ricky, was better than Ronnie and our duo was one of the top duos in the NFL. That is a very poor excuse.

Favre obviously has more talent than Chad, that doesn't mean I didn't want to keep Chad b/c it's about more than just talent but the only edge in talent Miami had was at RB and our RBs outperformed your RBs. Favre had a better running and better receivers, both OLs were good. There's no reason why Chad was so good and Favre sucked.

Coles as his worst is still better than anyone Miami has and Chad would have killed for Coles and Cotch over what he had to throw to.

Because Paul Hackett knew what he had in Chad.

Anyone blaming Thomas Jones for this debacle knows nothing about football.
