I agree about the penalties. I think the Jets did a great job - it had to have been hard to play that first game with a new qb that hasn't been with the team very long and who knows 75% of the playbook and it also had to have been hard to play against the qb that would have been the starting qb with the Jets this year. Be thankful you have the win and be thankful you have Favre.
You guys are ridiculous...the interference call could've gone either way. As far as which QB played better, it was Pennington hands down. After a shaky first quarter he was in rhythm the rest of the game. Favre threw a beautiful long pass and a lucky duck, and the rest of his day was similar, one good play and one bad. Hopefully, he'll find his rhythm and the offensive line will play better, but heading into next week, I'd say Pennington and offense are far ahead of Favre and ours. Tannenbaum, Mangini, Favre and Johnson shit their pants on the last drive and they're so fucking lucky that Revis made the play at the end. I'm holding Favre to the same standard that all you Pennington-haters held Chad too, and so far, I'm not impressed having to sweat out another last minute victory against these Dolphins.
Pretty much. Defense allowed Chad to look too good for his own liking. Threw for 250+ yards, and he doesn't have the weapons to throw it to really. Ginn Jr. was covered well by Revis all game. Whatever, we'll see Chad on Dec. 28th, if he still around for it.
We held the fish to 49 yards combined rushing. Favre was 15/22 with 2TDs and zero INTs. T. Jones with 22 carries for 101 yards and 1 TD. On the flip side we allowed noodle arm to go 26/43 for 251 and 2 TDs. We did manage the one INT though. Overall a decent start to the year. If we didn't have Nugent crap out on us in the first quarter I think the game would have gone differently.
Very foolish, ill-planned statements on your part. The Jets moved up in the draft and selected Revis, and paid him handsomely, for these types of moments. Game changing moments. Hello. Are they lucky, or is this why they paid him and selected him? I think the latter. Chad doesn't have what it takes to finish. End of story, that's why he lost, and we won.
As long as the Jets get the W, right now it's awesome and all the Fins fans can go screw themselves. Tomorrow I will worry about it, but right now, I am a happy man.
Bottom line is this is a game we usually lose and we didn't. Everyone should be as happy as I am. If Woody doesn't have that penalty there is no last drive and no unnecessary heart attacks. I do think on 3rd and 7 you have to throw and not give up the ball.
Agreed. There are a lot of people on this board that think Chad is George Bush's love-child. He's still dangerous and those that can't see that are only deceiving themselves. Good road win...
Favre hit Coles in the hands for a TD on the drive Nuge missed the FG an outright perfect pass that Coles dropped. Pennington played well but he was not the QB Favre was today.
BS......The JETS won their 1st game and we are off to a GREAT season. Brady got his knee slammed, and the JETS will win next week. The Jets looked MUCH stronger than the Pats did today.
True but a ton of safties would have picked off the one before that. Great play but tell me you weren't a little freaked by the flag until they made the call?
The flag did scare me, but Revis' catch was unbelievable. Pennington throws a pick on the final drive yet again. And I used to support the guy, fuckin Teal and Orange. Fin fans arguing that they had a shot - Jets should have put up 34 pts on that team.
Well, the lucky thing goes both ways. Was Pennington lucky that Revis dropped an easy pick earlier in the game or one right before the one that Revis eventually picked off and ended the game?
