Yep its official, he just signed! Wow these rookie contracts are a whole different ballgame now. 5 million for 4 years for a second rounder. Not too long ago we signed a first rounder QB for like 55 mill and a few years....
Glad to hear it. Not that I thought anything else was going to happen but could you imagine the field day the media would have if he still wasn't signed a day or two before TC? Or missed a day or two? (which, really, wasn't ever going to happen IMO).
He embarrassed me to more playoff wins than any other Jets QB in the history of the franchise. Good point! Hopefully Geno can win more.
Yes, because a mediocre QB had more to do with those playoff runs than our top D and running game. Lol, the delusion of the Pick 6ers never changes.
The delusion of so called "Jets fans" who call Sanchez an embarrassment or a failure is the real crazy thing. In 2009 if someone told a Jets fan that Mark Sanchez would have a 6-10 year, 8-8 year, plus 2 years where the Jets make the playoffs and win 4 games, that fan would have been super excited.
If the Jets had gone 6-10 in 2009, 8-8 in 2010 and then had the playoff runs in 2011 & 2012 no one would be complaining. The problem is that it's been the opposite of that and Sanchez has played terribly for the last year and a half. Most rookie QB's have been outperforming Sanchez by a long shot lately. Most people aren't going to ignore the last year and a half because of what he did in the playoffs almost 3 years ago.
Haha that is true. If someone told a Jets fan in 2009 than the Jets would win 4 playoff games, then go 8-8, then go 6-10, the fan would say "wait, what happened?" I agree with that.
If it actually happened in that order of course we would be excited. But seeing as how it went from the 2 playoff runs to the 6-10 season, that's not the case Edit: Regression is about the only thing thats been consistent
and yet all those rookie QBs combined have less playoff wins than Mark. I guarantee you if any of those great rookies played on the 2012 Jets our fans would be running them out of town b/c they would have been terrible last year. Phil Simms led the Giants to their first playoff app in nearly 20 years in his 3rd season in the league, he missed years 4 and 5 before reclaiming his job and helping them win a SB. It's very dangerous to throw away a QB who is still young, has had a ton of success and we know we can win with.
Hobbes, you keep "being right." Just like how you hit the nail on the head with your breakdown of the Buttfumble play. Remember? The one in which you insulted people because they didn't see it the [wrong] way that your beer-goggled eyes saw it? We all know how that unraveled. Yeah, man, I wish I could be as right as you.
