Already? I have to ask this: how much do you actually know about the Jets drafting history? 5 minutes after the pick and he's already worse that giving up a bevy of picks for DeWayne Roberson? Worse that taking Kyle Brady with Sapp still on the board? Worse that taking Bryan Thomas with Ed Reed still on the board? Worse than Johnny Lam? The list goes on and on and on.
holmes is a diva. so are 90% fo superstar wideouts. i dont see how that has anything to do with him being a good player or not. kerley is solid. hill was a rookie. plus none of these guys have sanchez throwing to them anymore. sanchez really rbings W"R's down big time.
My thoughts on Geno Smith Was he my first choice? No Would I have taken a QB in this draft? In the mid-rounds, I would have. Dysert for example. Would I have preferred selecting a WR or TE in the 2nd round or trading back? Yes (we could have still traded back and gotten Geno). That said, if we were gonna pick a QB that early, Geno was my choice. He'll fit the WCO perfectly and hopefully he'll have a big chip on his shoulder for dropping as low as he did. He should sit next season imo. Don't throw him into the fire right away.
enough of this "chip on his shoulder" bullsh!t. A lot of players have chips and end up a bust. Point is when hes called to play he better play good in NY. That is all.
I didn't want him in round 1, but in round 2, a chance to find a QB who has the tools to be a franchise QB and we didn't have to trade up, seems like a good value to me. Sanchez counts too much towards the cap to cut, so let them battle it out and see who is enough of a man to handle the pressure to be the starting QB. completion brings out the best in players and that is what I am hoping for. Lets face it Tebow was not competition last year, just a media whore.
I've shocked by the number of time travelers we have here at TGG. Only that can explain how sure you are about how bad this player will be.
Holmes being a diva have a ton to do with it since he doesnt play hard when he doesnt get his way. Remember the last game of the season 2 yrs ago... And you are wrong, a lot of WR have toned down because teams arent havent any T.O's anymore. And w/e man, Sanchez or no Sanchez, this offense is going to SUCK, AGAIN. Oh and rookie or not, CATCH THE BALL!:breakdance:
Unless Bridgewater completely regresses and does a 180° turnaround, then yes, I would still draft Bridgewater. He is going to be just as big of a talent as RGIII or Andrew Luck, to name the most recent productive QB's to come out. I believe Geno will be the next Vince Young.
I'm glad they adressed the position. Garrard/Nacho/Geno TC battle: The curdled cream will rise to the top!
my only complaints with him after looking at his tape are easily coached away. he looks like he stands a little too wide when he throws, but like i said, easy fix with drills and whatnot. his game experience is also nothing to scoff at, guy has been in just about every situation you can think of. could be a great pick up in round 2 at qb for the jets no need to be pissed with the pick just cause youre drooling over a guy who could come out and stink up the fbs next season. geno is a good talent at qb.
holmes didnt play hard because sanchez sucked. holmes was right to call out sanchez for being awful. he will play harder for any other QB. and keryley and hill will look better now that sanchez isnt playing and throwing to them. smith might not be great, but he wont be the worst qb in all of football
We should draft his teammate Steadman Bailey now in the 3rd round and hopefully Kelce drops to the 4th (unlikely).
I cnt say what about this pick. Good, bad or mediocre. One thing i know. We got him in the second round and he won't have a huge contract. So if he sucks, we simply cut him in 2-3 Years. Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Tapatalk HD
