Moore is anything but solid. He is only good when he has great players around him. Reminding him of he assignments and not to jump off sides. Otherwise is is below average to crappy. Go take a look at his penalties the last 3 years. He is a walking false start, although I have to admit he was a little better last year. But I have a feeling that was an aberation. But I would much rather him be our weak link than Clement or Clarke. He would be excellent depth though.
In those days G's didn't make that much and we replaced ARandy a year later w/ kendall. The last 2 offseasons the G market has skyrocketed and we put ourselevs in this situation w/ the Kendall situation. Faneca is no doub significantly better than Kendall but is he $20 mil better? I don't know aout that. regaredless of all that we are alot better today then we were on Thursday.
People have a short memory............KM was way, way overpaid by the Giants, it was a joke. KM's track record wasn't anything close to Faneca's. As far as Randy Thomas, I wish he stayed with the Jets because we matched the Skin's offer, it was Randy's decision to leave New York.
The last line made me smile: “Minute 1, Day 1, they said, We’re all in,” Smith said. “We’ll do whatever it takes to get this guy.” With offers on the table from the San Francisco 49ers and the St. Louis Rams, it helped that Tannenbaum and Smith have a relationship that dates to the beginning of their careers. The sides worked on the contract Friday. Faneca spent most of Saturday mulling his options. Around 5 p.m. Saturday, Faneca called Smith. “ ‘I want to be a Jet,’ ” Smith said Faneca told him.
We can get any free agent we want (as long as the money is there), considering we already signed Jenkins and Faneca and i think the league holds Tannenbaum and Mangini in high regard. It will also be a good thing if players in the draft want to play for the Jets- they could make it known they dont want to play somewhere adn who knows- maybe a player or two falls to the Jets this APril because of their interest in playing for them
