If they like Eli or not he's going to be there quaterback for the next 3-4 years atleast.

The early Pennigton years was no question better then Eli has ever been.

I'll take Eli over our QBs in a heart beat.

I'm not saying that giving up Rivers and Shaun Merrimen to get him was a bright idea though.....

Giants fans had a right to rip on Eli until the post season this year; he had been awful for them. You would rip on the Jets QB if he was only completing 55% of his passes and leading the league in turnovers.

The question is, should anyone give you the benefit of the doubt in terms of believing you have any idea what you are talking about?

Actually it's up until the last game of the regular season. Manning suddenly took off at that point and put up 5 straight good games against superior defenses after struggling against them earlier in the year.

The Super Bowl, BTW, was just a good game, not a great one. The Giants won because their pass rush made Brady into a hesitant QB who was trying to force throws that weren't there when he went deep and was checking down otherwise.

Brady drove the Pats right down the field for the go ahead TD with 2:55 left and the Giants needed a TD not a FG to have an opportunity to win the game. The guy threw 2 TD passes in the 4th quarter to lead the Giants back twice, his one INT was on a dropped pass, he was under intense pressure all game the Giants weren't able to run the ball well and twice in the 4th quarter he drove them for go ahead TD's, in that game under those circumstances, that was great. The Giants lose with less than a stellar performance from Eli yesterday.

Eli has always shown the ability to make game changing plays against any level of competition. He has made some really bone head decisions over the years but that doesn't change the fact that over the years he has shown the ability to beat big time Defenses in big situations because he has. Mistakes can be reduced ability can't be manufactured.

Hey guess what? All year they had Brady looking like GOD, but finally when he gets knocked down, he was a deer in headlights, just an average QB.

Thats the closing argument in the Clemens/Chad case.

That throw Eli made on 3rd and 5 to Tyree could only be made by one QB on our roster, and it isn't Capt. Checkdown.

I disagree with the analysis. I think the Giants won that game ONLY because their defense kept them in the game. Eli was an effective ZERO for the day up until the 4th quarter and then his defense got him a couple of chances that he capitalized on to help the Giants win the game.

Without the Giant's defensive excellence through 3 quarters that game is a rout that they have no chance to win, in part because Eli couldn't get anything done until late in the game.

The Patriots pass rush did not harrass Eli anywhere near as much as the Giants shut down Brady. In the 4th quarter Belichik knew the game was going to come down to a couple of drives and he started sending the kitchen sink at Manning on every drop back. The Giant front 4 alone did that to Brady all day long.

He wasn't a deer in the headlights at any point in that game. He just couldn't get the job done against that pass rush.

When Chad has a game like that the final numbers turn into 10-28 for 127 yards and an INT or two.

Is anyone but me feeling depressed over the Super Bowl outcome?

Yeah, Eli Manning versus Tom Brady. Whatever.
As a Jets fan, I could care less.

What I care about (more than the Super Bowl) is that for whatever reason, the Jets defense always sucks. Bill Parcells drafted a few good D-Linemen, Ellis and Abraham and all, and then Bradway traded up to get a good nose tackle and all that. The Jets even spent a first round draft choice on Bryan Thomas, who is supposed to be the next LT or something.

The Giants draft Tuck, and Umenyori (sp?), and all those guys. And for some strange reason, the Jets defense ALWAYS sucks, and the Giants defense brings them to the Super Bowl.

I'm not new to this thing. I started following the Jets in 1979. The Giants have been in four Super Bowls since then and have won three of them. They drafted LT, and Carl Banks, and Harry Carson, and Michael Strahan, etc. etc. ad nauseum.

The Jets? Well we had our Sack Exchange, but since then, our defense has always been second best in NYC.

I will continue to root for the Jets but it is getting more and more difficult to do so... I'd rather root for no team at all than a bucnh of total losers who never get it together.

I hate the Giants, and I hate the Patriots. I hated the Super Bowl this year.
If ownership doesn't understand why Jets fans will be pissed off after watching the Giants OR the Patriots win one Super Bowl game after another, they should just sell the team to someone who has a clue.

He was awful that last drive, Samuel should have had a pick, same with merriweather, and the game changing play he threw the ball up for grabs and tyree made a great play, that could just as easily have been caught by Harrison. I thought this was Eli's worst game of the playoffs
