Or it could be that the teams are constrained because after taking a QB at #1, they drop serious coin in the FA market trying to shore up holes immediately, instead of letting young guys develop. Oh, hey, we took a QB in the first round, so let's spend some $$$ and bring in a LT to protect him and some targets for him to throw to. It's short sighted thinking in my opinion.
if we don't have to give up anything to get mariota, ie. he falls to 6, then there should be no phucking problem drafting him. Yet, some of you are equating him to Geno (lol) and don't want him. You entitled bums deserve Geno. I doubt Mariota falls to us, so you're gonna get your wish. Score!
You'd lose that wager. Very productive but much of a mirage. Mariota is twice the player that Geno was. I can't argue that Mariota is clearly better than Geno was in college with a Tebot. Can't do it. _
Geno ball lickers or a Tebow freak. It's actually quite astonishing that anyone would compare the two based upon their "stats". _
You can't argue that Mariota was clearly better than Geno in college simply because the facts don't back you up. BOTH guys had remarkable college careers and were extremely good in the offenses that they ran. The big question is how well does that (or will that) translate to the NFL ?
Comical. I absolutely CAN argue that Mariota was clearly better because Geno's production was a mirage. He was no where NEAR the player Mariota was for all 3 years Mariota was there. Stop looking at a stat sheet. You should have watched the games. And the translation to the NFL has less to do with systems and almost everything to do with football IQ. Mariota is the greek philosopher Homer compared to Geno's Homer Simpson. _
Looks like Bradford possibly to Philly? Marietta will be more of a possibility than ever should this go through...
I've watched a lot of the games Stokes. tell us all, why was Geno's production a "mirage", but apparently Mariota's isn't ?
Eagles got Bradford and swapped 1st round picks. Now they are sitting at #10 and have a much more realistic shot of trading up for Mariota.
Friend of mine is an Eagles fan and he is saying he's hearing the Eagles are going to go for Tampa's 1st overall pick. Imagine if the Eagles trade for Mariota and Winston drops the Jets!!!!
Maybe, maybe not. Have to wait for contract details to come out to really say. Bradford is in the last year of his current contract iirc. Perhaps he's being brought in as the vet to give Mariota time to develop ?
Why ? Because YOU say so Stokes ? We're talking about on field production here. Go ahead, explain it to us Stokes.
I love Mariota and Oregon football but Stokes you're starting to become to MM what Junc is to Sanchez
With Philly at 10, Mariota is not happening at this point. Chip is clearly gearing up to trade for Mariota. Jets will have to look for their QB in a different way.
