It's possible that Nunberg was just unraveling on national TV. He's under a lot of pressure at this point and Mueller has him on the record based on the interview(s). Now he has to testify under oath to a grand jury and maybe he wasn't completely truthful the first time around and people who have flipped in the investigation have made that clear. He may be worried that the grand jury is going to turn out badly for him however he approaches it.

Trump simply refuses to listen to "the best people" he hired. This man really doesn't have the chops to be POTUS and if his followers were honest with themselves, they'd agree. A while back, a poster said that Trump didn't expect to win and only ran because of the free media coverage he'd receive. I'm starting to believe that to be the case. He continues to come across as a know it all who doesn't know sh*t about how government and the economy work. It can't be an act anymore.
The sad thing is, his followers will excuse and ignore everything that comes across as less than optimal. They believe everything that Trump says. They support everything that Trump does. Trump lost his top economics adviser today because they disagreed on his stupid tariffs. Trump hires these people then he bullies them and ignores what they have to say, so what's the point of working for Trump? I don't blame Gary Cohn.
