I understand your point and don't disagree. Yes, coaching is more of a year around job, but Favre has in the past drawn the drama out to the point where he forced the team's hand. Just last year the Packers had turned the reins over when Favre decides he wants to come back and make them start over. My gut tells me that if the roles were reversed with Dungy being the QB and Favre the coach, you'd still have a Dungy decision and be waiting on Favre. Thanks for the civil conversation. :up:
The difference in this situation is that Favre doesn't have a stadium full of owners he can use to hold the FO hostage if he decides to play the 'maybe, maybe not' game with his retirement. The team said they expect his decision by the combine, and will probably get it much sooner. They don't have to hang on his every word if they are smart. The problem here isn't Favre anymore. It's Woody and his PSLs.
