What is the MOST you would give up to get Watson?

Maybe they don’t want either, but most likely they prefer Tua. If the Jets didn’t want to give up both 2021 picks, Miami would definitely pull the trigger on that. I also promise you that if Texans would accept my trade package, the Jets would do it. I just don’t know if the Texans will take it.

Another factor that works in our favor is Miami already owning Houston's pick. I find it unlikely that the Texas would also trade them their franchise QB just to get their pick back.

If that's what it takes, it's still worth it. You still have the 34th pick and 2 3rd rounders and all the cap space to build around Watson. Hopefully Watson puts pressure on the Texans and Joe D negotiates to bring that cost down a bit. But you can look at that package as basically Justin Fields and Jamal Adams for a top 3 QB that's only 25 years old.

There's something very common amongst those who "don't want to overpay" for Watson...

Maybe I would do something like:
    2021 1st round pick (#2 overall)
    2022 1st round pick (ours or Seattle's)
    2022 2nd round pick
    2023 1st round pick
    Sam Darnold

They didn't. Hockey went up. And baseball was cut short.. Hard to have ratings when you're only showing re-runs from 10 yrs ago.

The Kentucky Derby ratings tanked. Those "woke ass" horses man. All they had to do was shut up and gallup. No one wants this social justice garbage thrown in their face!

He is Patrick Mahomes level good. Swap Mahomes for Watson on KC and they don't skip a beat.

There’s not a single amount of pressure Watson can put on the Texans to force them to trade him if they don’t want. The likelihood that Watson would sit out in protest and walk away from the nearly $200 million he is due is 0%. If they don’t trade him he will play for the Texans; all of this is just a show.

this isn’t like Bell willing to sit out one year for his contract to expire.

Players force teams to trade them all the time, it's not some new concept. Sure, the Texans don't "have to" trade him, but if the situation gets bad enough, they'll almost have no choice.

Show me a franchise QB with a long term contract force a trade. Then you have a logical comparison. Some non-franchise QB not worth the headache isn’t a relevant comparison.

Most people are well aware of the reality. The "go woke go broke" crowd has no desire to acknowledge it. You're wasting time.

I didn't think it was possible to want Watson on the Jets more than I did, but this last page or two somehow took my desire to new heights.

I've taken a few days to really think about this and I'm kind of "meh" on the whole situation. Lots of mixed feelings.

Watson is definitely a top tier QB, no doubt about it. He's the most valuable player in the league not named Patrick Mahomes. We do have a ton of holes though, I'm hesitant to trade away 4 first round picks, especially when you consider that the #2 this year is likely worth several first rounders by itself. I'm also not a huge fan of how Watson has handled this whole situation. The Texans have done him no favors but there's still a high road and low road response to every situation and being a true professional often means taking the high road even when you'd be justified in taking the low road.
