You still dont get it which means you either don't want to or never will. There's a reason you're in the minority with this one.

I am SO SICK of posts like this that are ignorant of the facts and drag down the level of discussion!!! Watson wouldn't have to do it by himself, and no one is saying that he could or should. Try doing a little research. If you did, you'd know how many draft picks the Jets have over the next two drafts, how much cap space they have and who some of the players are that could very well wind up as FAs, especially because of the lower salary cap and so many teams being at or over the cap already.

I get it just fine, I’m in the minority because I see the facts for what they are. I’m not into the groupthink mentality that so many people in today’s society fall into.

I can think for myself just fine, you don’t have to agree with me. But don’t attack me because you want conformity.

Craig Carton said on WFAN his sources are hearing that the Jets reached out to Houston regarding Watson.

Take that for what it’s worth.

I actually agree with the both of you. But at the same time I don't think this is something that will follow a quarterback to another franchise. Maybe it does? Either way I'd be willing to take the gamble on it not happening because we still have plenty of resources to be built into a winner.

It's much harder for a quarterback to build a legacy that he's capable of if he becomes a malcontent on his second team. It's a lot easier for receivers to get away with it and even Moss/TO are permanently stained. If he gets moved and happily stays with his new franchise for a decade+ then it's all erased.

I'll take it one step further. The way Watson is handling this shows why he will likely NEVER win a SB.

All of that makes me wonder if our new coach would even sign off on this move... If your talking about changing the culture, I'm not sure Watson is the guy to lead that

Fuller is a good player although he's always hurt and missed nearly half the year with a suspension. Cooks is solid but will be cut given his cap number/being a concussion away from having trouble reading. Cobb has one 1,000 yard season in his career and he played with an all-time great quarterback for half his career.

Coutee averages 27 catches for 313 yards a year.

If Watson is the kind of culture JD is looking for then JD isn't who we think he is.

Yes, Watson wanting to get away from a franchise that has traded away multiple first round picks and a top 3 WR in the league over the last three years is the reason he won't win a SB, not the people making the decisions.

The original post I responded to stated that Watson didn't even have a Mims or Crowder like we do. Now its an obsession on proving the Texans WRs are average at best. No they are far above average and far above what the Jets had.

We get it. Your obsessed with getting him at any cost and willing to overlook all of his faults that are coming to light.

BTW - he signed that contract after they made those trades.

His receiving corps the past couple years has essentially been DeAndre Hopkins and nothing else.

Regardless, it doesn't really matter. Cooks will be cut and they have no money to re-sign Fuller so the receiver room will be lead by 31 year old Randall Cobb, Coutee and at best a third round rookie.

If the Jets add one of Godwin/Golladay/Robinson and draft another player somewhere in the draft, we have a better receiver situation instantly no?

At what point did I say I want to get him at any cost? You made that up. You also think that his faults are "coming to light" because you're buying your own brand of farts. There are so few people that agree with you in the mainstream and that's not because they have any skin in the game, it's because this situation requires very little common sense to figure out.

What does him signing after those trades matter? He was getting paid, that's what every single NFL player's goal should be. Since that contract was signed, he's been shunned from the entire GM and coach hiring process (which he was told he was going to be in on) and the public image around the team is maybe the worst in the league so they aren't attracting a quality coach or any free agents. Not to mention other things that ownership has done which we won't get into because I think Mr. Free Thinker would have a conniption.
