I don't get it, you're saying that he was a risk and that you take risks on day 2 of the draft, so how does that make the case that we should have drafted McNeil?
You also said that Mike Williams (the wideout) would be a 'game-changing player' and that Matt Jones was worth trading up for.
1) He looks god awful slow 2) It looks like he's playing against some high schools. 3) If that guy is beating your starting LT to get to the QB you have a serious issue on your hands.
This is a little old but a nice write up on trusnik http://www.newyorkjets.com/news/articles/show_permalink/trusnik-s-a-dark-horse-heading-into-minicamp
That's true, I blew it {big time} with Mike Williams, but I still believe Matt Jones will be a stud .. tough transition from QB to WR, but when it all clicks I think he'll be a stud wideout .. 2007 should be his breakout year, otherwise I'll have to rethink it
Watching that video made me think of the kid who's parents held him back a year in school so that he'd have an advantage over all the other kids on the team.
He is an undersized end even for the college level, that's why he is playing outside linebacker for the Jets in the 3-4...Also, he pretty much played against high school teams at the Division III level. There isn't much talent in that division. He represented his team well in the Shrine Bowl where he played with players from all divisions, and if you watch the video he lines up against an offensive tackle from Southern Cal and makes him look foolish twice. Trusnik had 1 and 1/2 sacks in the Shrine Bowl. He can compete with anyone.
