Imagine the scene as Revis tells Ryan. Ok I'm in. Then Ryan screams "What are we waiting for". Just like in ROCKY....

I was hoping T-Rich would be around to mentor Connor some more but I guess that's the tradeoff...like I said in the other thread, Tanny needed to have Revis in his back pocket for me to sign off on that one and miracle of miracles, he did.

I don't get why this deal couldn't have been signed before, I guess either Revis's own lack of real leverage (other than the team's performance) finally kicked in or the Jets were offering less guaranteed money than previously thought. But at least this crap's over with now...between that and the Kovy stuff it's been one terrific holiday weekend!

yea I mentioned this in the other thread, this has to be no more than the Jets offered before. Why wouldnt they have just offered this guaranteed overall?

I think just the opposite is true. This gives the whole team--even the offense--an emotional boost. It takes pressure off Sanchez. I think we get our swagger back knowing #24 is back.:breakdance:

    Same here.

I'm still pissed at him, but when he gets his first pick it will go away.

There are only rumors but they are 4 years, 46 million, 32 guaranteed. Again, only rumors.

They reworked his final 3 years and added a fourth. We may go through this again in 2013, but who cares right now?

I'm not sure that is really true. They let Richardson go early in the day and last night Tannenbaum still didn't think they would get a deal done with Revis. I think it's just a coincidence.

No I think they cut Richardson to make room for the 3 waiver claims they got.

Manesh said its technically a 7 year deal. what does that mean?
did they maybe get him for 10/160 and only make the first 4 years realistic? (7 to me means a 7 year extension on his existin 3)

on what we know Revis traded 3 years 21M with 20M not gauranteed till end of this year for 32M gauranteed now. so he gets an extra 11m and doesnt have to wait the season out.

jets get an extra year of contract. but at a cost of over 20m. thats it. plus we have to gaurantee all that money now. all becaus Revis was a whiney little b.

Jets got really screwed here. i really feel like we negotiated with terrorists. i guess i wasnt going to be happy with any short term deal. if we were getting a deal i really wantewd it to be to make revis a jet for life
