I understand not wanting Murray. I'm not that high on McCarron, but am curious why you don't like him.
Tom Brady circa 1999: product of a great Michigan team, has no upside other than being a game manager. Which is why he lasted until the 6th round. I'm not all that fond of McCarron as a prospect but I wasn't fond of Brady as a prospect either (and a big Wolverine fan here) and I learned that sometimes being a game manager in a pro set offense at a highly successful program gives you a leg up on being a good NFL QB if the opportunity arrives. This BTW is one of the qualities that Murray has also. Both of those guys are going to be doing a bit less "who-what-where" early on than most NFL prospects. That doesn't mean they're guaranteed to be good QB's by a long stretch but it gives them a leg up on many of the other mid-round prospects.
I'd take Mccarron or Murray in a heartbeat if either is still available in the later rounds. Let them sit behind Geno, Sanchez, Simms, whoever.
Well said and that's why Mettenberger should also be included on the list of potential QB's jets should select if he falls to them. He has a great arm and size, also plays under the tutelage of Cam Cameron. I know abou cam, don't blast me for it, I just like that he is being taught the position by a former NFL OC.
