See thats why we drafted 2 OLmen in the draft. Penny had some great protection in this game.

His performance should make our line try even harder to keep him off the ground. He is a must, on that field for us. Great work put in by this guy, and yet I hardly doubt you will hear a "I told you so" come from his mouth. Just the type of character he is. Great job. I am a very happy JETS fan right now.

The best thing is, that Penny is an excellent person for Clemens to learn behind. He's a team first guy, so I am sure he'll be helping make Clemens better and ready when his time comes.

319 yds. When was the last time Penny had a performance like this?

The pass protection was good but the running game has to improve in order for our offense to succeed week to week. Otherwise an absolute gem by Chad today. I mean a 41 yard pass play, I still am in shock.

I am so happy for CHAD! After all the hard work he's put in...he deserved to perform like this on opening day.

can't give him full props because of the fumble inside the 5, but other than that he played an amazing game. This was the 2002 Chad.

I am absolutely shocked! shocked at how good Chad was today. I understand he picked on some young people but the man was unreal. His arm actually looked stronger than it ever did...I hope I continue to wear egg on my face all year after knocking this guy.....terrific game by chad. wow

See that is the typical fan...

The fumble was caused by moronic play calling at that point of the field. Put your Qb in a bad situation much?....

Did anyone have any doubt that Pennington was going to bring them down the field late in the 4th quarter? He does it time after time after time. So damn clutch. With absolutely no running game at all he just tore it up. AMAZING performance. Amazing.

Penny never had a chance with that. He tried to tuck it in, but was getting hit as soon as he turned in the defenders view. Bad situation....

Chad looked solid all day except for that unfortunate scenario, and I really would'nt call that his fault.

    Chad's passer rating

What was it? I can't find it on nfl.com game stats.

Exactly. That sack/fumble wasnt penny's fault. It was one of the few miscues from the Oline. As soon as he turned around, BOOM, the guy was in his face.

It was far too high to be calculated by any man-made machine.
