Neither are proving themselves really, I think the team should trade for Scott Pioli.

And there's the big key Sigma... he had everything you could possibly want last year with GB, to go to a superbowl, and he STILL didn't get there, and he shat the bed in the conference championship game... It was all lined up for him... good running game, at home in Lambeau, etc...so why is Farve going to do better here in a new offense, new coaches, new division, new stadium, new teammates, new media to deal with, etc, at age 39? Why is this a given? Why does this improve our chances so much?

He isn't, plain and simple. Mark it down, he is not. Green Bay hasn't gotten there since 1997 with Favre in his prime. Some people here just want Chad out of here so badly they would trade for Bubby Brister back. Doesn't mean it's the right thing to do and it doesn't mean it's going to happen.

They lost to the SB champs, the best team in the league in the finals. The last time we did that was in 98.

He shat the bed? He had them in OT against a defense that made the most prolific offense in the history of the NFL look average at best 2 weeks later.

You really think they're in that position without him? I don't.

And who threw the pick in overtime when they won a coin toss that cost them the game?

I've been following every post in this thread, but haven't been able to get on today and instead of reading the 12 or so pages I missed, could somebody give me a quick update on the Jets chances in this thing? Thanks.

We lost to Denver because Martin had a bad game and the wheels fell off. Favre is a totally over rated has been. He's still better than most of the QB's in the league after the top 5 or 6. We on the other hand have a terrible situation at QB which is why we are now having two QB competitions, one between Penny and Clemens and one between Tannenbaum and Gruden.

nowhere in my few words there did I guarantee favre will get us a superbowl, all I am saying is I will take a media circus and saga next off-season if we win a superbowl with him.

The Pack may be screwing themselves by trading him to the Bucs. If they do, Bucs probably waive/trade Garcia? And guess who needs a veteran QB who just needs to manage a phenominal running game. Oh, the Minnesota Vikings. Garcia would be perfect there, and if they get him, the Pack have no chance of winning that division.

People don't wanna see this, they think its plug n play because of his past accomplishments or because he has a 'rocket arm'.

Video game mentality. Change his shirt and he does all the same things, producing the same numbers. Because Green Bay and New York are nearly identical for a real human being.

I agree with this assessment. (I think Favre is somewhat overrated). He is not a top 3 qb.

People don't want to see that Pennington doesn't have the arm he had in 02 and that Clemens isn't ready yet. People never want to deal with unpleasant things until they have to which is why Tannenbaum is running afte Favre as hard as he can.
