What number would Farve be as a Jet if he did end up here? Isn't Glenn Foleys #4 Retired now?

He doesn't actually get reinstated until 12pm tomorrow, so 24hrs from tomorrow at noon it'll be over.

ESPN's John Clayton is reporting that Favre has rejected the merchandising deal set forth by the Packers and wants to play football.

Favre is too stubborn for his own good. You're not starting in Green Bay, you're not going to Minnesota. The Jets would be an ideal situation for you yet you continue to shit the bed.

Do you want to be a starting QB this year or not?

Just got back from a wedding in michigan. Missed what has been going on past 2 days. I turn on espn a minute ago and some reporter confirms that favre spoke directly to the jets and told them he didn't want to play there? Can someone confirm this. Don't know who the reporter was but this may be old news for all I know. If this is the case, then I would say that this whole thing is put to rest. There is not a single chance in hell of him being a jet

Citing a source close to the Packers, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports that Brett Favre will compete with Aaron Rodgers to start in training camp.
Despite saying they've "moved on" throughout the summer, the Packers' reported plan is to open the job for competition. Practice snaps will be split between Favre and Rodgers. The Packers have reportedly also dropped their $20 million marketing offer for Favre to stay retired. Rodgers will almost certainly run the first team on Monday, but Favre has more experience in the offense and can still play, so we'd have to consider him the favorite to win.

    Related: Aaron Rodgers

I think that is the best case scenario for ALL parties...Green Bay would be another SB contender with Favre, and Favre plays where he wants to, contrary to his Minnesota reports.

Me too. I think it is Rodgers' turn to start up a circus in Green Bay, demanding a trade since Favre is returning.

    Aaron Rodgers got screwed.

If I were him I'd force the Packers to trade me. This really isn't fair to him.

It also pushes Brian Brohm and Matt Flynn down the depth chart.

Could Rodgers literally be expendable? Could they possibly groom Brohm for 2010?

I said it before the draft, I thought Brian Brohm was THE best QB coming out this year. He's going to be a stud in a few years.
