I got some insider news regarding the Favre situation: When asked about his chances of playing for the New York Jets, Favre responded, "Who the fuck are the Jets?"
Found this on yahoo http://l.yimg.com/jh/content/p/3/1233011/madden-nfl-09-20080728022112340_screen001.jpg http://videogames.yahoo.com/thumbgallery?cid=1951798392&tab=thumbgallery&page=1&eid=-1
Just saw on ESPN Bottomline that Ed Werder reports that Favre is considering spurning the Packer's marketing offer and reporting to camp, which means the Pack would have to trade him and Favre knows that...it's not over yet.
"Boo hoo! I'm retiring from football! Waah! I'll never play football again!!! Wail! Bray! Feel sorry for me! Crying like a goddam baby!" --Bret Favre a few months ago, during his overdrawn retirement speech Favre displaye the most disgusting emotional display I have ever seen from any celebrity--be it sports, films, music or whatever. His bawling was over the top. It made me so sick that I had to turn off sports TV for a few days, since ESPN played his baby-bawling day after day after day. Even so, I thought the Jets should try to sign the guy, since our QB problems ar what they are. And now? He wants back in to the game. But on his own terms. Which includes a big F-U to Jets fans. Sorry, Bret, but you just lost one more (potential) fan. I was all for the Jets signing him until this prima donna behavior. Yes, the Jets have QB problems. But we also have some pride. Which seems to be a commodity that Bret has lost along the way... Bye bye, Bret! Have fun in whatever Neverland you wanted to go to after retirement! Say hello to Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Madonna and the rest of those losers who are totally put of touch with reality!
"Brett, you rememeber? the team that beat your ass in 02, when a win would have given you HFA throughout the playoffs..? Then four years later, walked into Lambeau, and put that 38-10 asswhuppin on you... Those Jets.....
The Jets should try to trade for Aaron Rodgers rather than Brett Favre. Let him compete with the other 2.
I don't understand why they won't go out and secure a draft pick for the guy? A draft pick is way more valuable to the Packers at this point than that fossil. The more I hear the more I think they have incompetent management.
actually that's the smartest solution i've read. the fish really really need a signal caller, and as we all know, bp has a penchant for bringing in retired arms. that being said, that would suck.
This is good for those of us who want him. For him to come back, he has to know that there's a decent chance he'll be traded here, because a) no way the Pack can keep him, b) no way they can trade him to the Vikes and c) I'd be shocked if they back down and release him instead of taking a pick for him. Clearly he wants to play, and him coming back shows he'd be willing to do it for the Jets. Anyway, less than 24 hours until this is all over! (I hope).
Let's say we DID sign Favre....What would happen with his contract? He would need to restructure right?
