Seriously. I'm thinking maybe Tanny low balled them when this first came up and now that the pressure is on the Packers are willing to talk.

Because you can figure out a season by what happens in training camp?

No doubt, the Pack lost some serious leverage when they tried to pull that off.

Don't you mean 20 mil to not make the Packers look like total ass-clowns when he leads another team to the playoffs? Favre being a success elsewhere could be the start of a house cleaning in GB if they pull a "Broncos after Elway" maneuver when he's gone. That 20 million was job security.

just announced on ESPN news. Late word is that Favre is considering a merchandising and marketing deal from the Packers and will stay retired.

Favre won 13 games last year. I agree he's prone to stupid interceptions in key spots, but you can't deny that he vastly improves this football team.

Stop toying with our emotions Favre

    lol

edit: dammit - i had completely written this off as a possibility and even come to the conclusion that it wouldn't be a good idea. Then this thread pops up and I've got Favre fever again (no homo).

I hope it gets done for two reasons:

    1-The Jets get a QB.

2-I stop hearing Favre updates every ten minutes.

It's really bad when you know ESPN News has a crawl that highlights NL, AL, NFL, NBA, and FAVRE. The FAVRE gives you updates about his workouts and all the other garbage.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to have Favre on the Jets. But the coverage has been crazy. I think ESPN is going to create another channel devoted just to Favre.

If the Jets do get Favre, I hope everyone on this board learns to spell his name correctly.

I'm done. Sorry for my rant.

The guy sucks, I agree. You have to be pretty bad to only get runner-up for league MVP at age 37.

He probably doesn't want to come here but has no choice, which is why he's considering this marketing thing. Damn.

Even if the teams made the trade, he won't come here! He'd re-retire....

If he doesn't want to play here then Mangini better figure that out before trading for him

Hoping Favre makes up his mind is like hoping to see pigs fly over the moon while drinking milkshakes and speaking Portugese.
