You're wrong. I want sooooo badly for spring to get here so I can go fishing again. That's important. What Woody does with Woody's team isn't really all that important in the grand scheme because of one overriding reason. The New York Jets are the property of Woody Johnson and if he wants to run the franchise into the ground, that's his right to do so. The only thing we as fans control, is how much money we contribute to the cause. Nothing more, nothing less.
I have my rants to vent off my dissatisfaction but at the end of the day I'm with you. It's Woody's team to ruin, out of my hands, I enjoy football and I'm not going to let Woody or Rex spoil that for me. All you can do at laugh at their absurdity.
I'm 20 years old. Compared to you guys, I guess you can say I'm young. I used to live in NYC as well as upstate New York. (I'm now in NC and have been here for five years). I didn't really follow sports until college. I decided 'hey, I should follow football'. So, I picked the Jets and (don't kill me) the Giants for my freshman year in college. I followed the game through gametracker and watched the games I could. 2011, I was able to watch all the Jets and Giants game on television. Jets/Giants played, I rooted for the Jets to win it. I sorta bandwagoned on the Giants Superbowl run. This year, I'm proud to say I'm all Jets. I love the character of the team, and not in a CIRCUS type of way. I love what Rex Ryan is trying to do by winning it all. This team has personalities that are likeable (unlike the Giants who seemed boring). It hurt quite a bit to see us lose the way we did this year, because I know we had potential for more. This team is a classic underdog, and I would love nothing more than to see them win the Superbowl. I want to drive around Raleigh screaming at the top of my lungs 'J-E-T-S! JETS! JETS! JETS!' I am planning to go to three games next year (luckily we play NFC South and Baltimore. I'd be able to go to Atlanta, Carolina, and Baltimore with little problems). I was happy as a clam that the Giants didn't make the playoffs this year. I'll be happier when the Patriots don't win a Superbowl this year. Hopefully that helps. Sorry about rooting for the Giants, I wish there was something I can do to make up for it . Sorry for my New York Jets autobiography as well.
i can respect that. and it gives me a little clearer of an understanding of your position on some things. im a weathered old bitter jets fan, i forget that at times when talking on the forum that not everyone is old and bitter like i am... sad thing is im not even 40, imagine what ill be like by the time i am champs age....
I think I've been spoiled by the fact I came in when we were good. Perhaps we can petition for Rex to gain some weight. Our wins seem to be directly proportional to how much he weighs
Send him out here to Amish country. We'll get him all set up at the Shady Maple Smorgasbord and he'll pop that belly band in no time at all..
LOL...if he loves the Jets this much, he should be willing to sacrifice his long term health for the good of the team.
