Kuroda has been sick, Hughes has turned it around, Nova went thru a rough patch but is battling. Freddy Garcia continues to eat innings for us. I think Larry Rothschild has done a great job since he's been hired.
So how in the hell does Cashman find a way to bring Kuroda back when Steinbrenner is trying to cut payroll? Should have signed him to more than one year to begin with. I can see him pitching for Boston, Texas or Baltimore next year.
He doesn't bring him back unless it's on a super-sweet deal. Kuroda is 37 years old. If Boston, Texas, or Baltimore want to offer him a three-year deal, let them. Cashman most certainly should NOT have signed a 37-year-old NL West pitcher to a multi-year deal when a one-year deal was enough to sign him. ETA: As for how payroll gets cut, Swisher's probably gone next year. Soriano's gone after next year. Kuroda's gone. Aside from that, the Yanks don't have a lot of flexibility.
You're right but it's still a fierce rivalry. Also, it's a little bit of revenge since the Pats swept the Jets last year. Since the Yankees are dominating this rivalry in 2012, I have to cherish this since the Jets/Pats rivalry is always favored against us.
Even though the Yankees lost today, the Jets/Giants preseason game was terrible. All I can say is, THANK GOD IT'S STILL BASEBALL SEASON! On a serious note, Yankees gotta win tomorrow and play great baseball to win the AL East.

I don't think it is wrong to bring up the question. You have average players and HOF type players that were busted with PEDs.
It's not as though Jeter's numbers are staggeringly better than last year or that he sucked that much last year to suggest that he would be driven to take PEDs out of frustration. He's elevated his average by 27 points because he's hitting more line drives and his HR/FB% is inflated while last year's was deflated (7%, the lowest of his career, especially remarkable given the new Yankee Stadium's reputation about HR's), thus explaining how he can double from 6 to 12. To speculate that someone who has had a Hall of Fame caliber career needs to take PEDs to hit 12 home runs at the age of 38 is absurd, especially given that Jeter hit 10+ home runs every full season he'd ever played up until last year. If I were to bring up the question I'd do it with more than just one player. Opening the discussion is fine, but to target one player who doesn't even fit the profile other than the fact that he's old and is doing well is absurd. In conclusion Skip Bayless is of course desperate for attention and thus espouses preposterous B.S.
