Yankees win today, easily. Joba got some time, didn't get to see but stats say he gave up a homer.

We should be happy his ankle didn't snap in half on the mound.

Cano hit another Grand Slam today. 7th all-time on the Yankees list.

All-Time Grand Slam Leaders (Second Basemen):
    Jeff Kent (13)
    Cano (9)
    Hornsby (9) [HOF]
    Doerr (8) [HOF]

CC pitched very well last night. I think broke the 100 pitch mark in the 9th inning. I think they mentioned on YES he is 8-0 in his last 8 starts against SEA for whatever that is worth

Nova's struggle and this team has me slight worried. It's only the beginning of August, but right now they aren't hot.

I don't see any reason for worry tbh. Since this "cold streak" has started we've played OAK, SEA, BOS, BAL, SEA, and now DET. Sure SEA sucks but we went 4-2 against them and the rest of the teams are tough matchups.

Even today's game was tough to watch.
Since the OAK series since that's the team you listed first 6-12 (not including todays' game). Even thougj they are tough teams, .500 would be a lot less worrisome.

Take out SEA 2 wins over the last 12 games (not including tonight).

Definitely a cold streak but nothing about it says that it will continue through September IMO. Poor defense/bad luck mostly contributed to the Tigers' offense today (Robertson's 27.00 ERA vs 4.02 xFIP; Sabathia's 4.05 ERA vs 2.54 xFIP and a .364 BABIP)

Btw, I started at OAK because that's when the cold streak started; they had won 5 of 6 prior to that series (and before that was the ASB).

Take out those two Seattle wins and they haven't won ANY games! Holy shit, they're terrible!

Shit evens out over the course of a season.

I'm not saying they're terrible I'm just getting worried because of the length of the slump. And that nova has struggled mightily recently

Sure, but a discussion about how this team is performing right now and whether they will continue to perform this poorly (or not as well as they had before) going into the postseason is pertinent (not to mention that we're only up 4.5 in the division and wild card.

Curtis Granderson is the third Yankees center fielder with back-to-back 30-homer seasons, joining Mickey Mantle and Joe DiMaggio.

I feel like we go through this every year. People get upset when they lose a handful of games in a row or suffer some kind of prolonged slide. And I get that. But let's not make more of it than it is. It happens every year. If the Yanks reel off six in a row, people will be talking about whether they should start lining up their postseason rotation and booking hotel rooms for the championship parade. If they lose four in a row, there is concern that they will miss the playoffs.

What is there to worry about? The Yankees will win the division. Or they won't. They'll get into the playoffs. Or they won't. If you're making bets, the smart money is on them getting into the playoffs and doing well, current struggling notwithstanding.

If we're talking about what we should expect in the course of a season, their recent slide falls well within what you'd expect from variance and isn't necessarily a "sign" of something.

^Agreed 100%. There will always be occasional slides.

Again, I don't think they're missing the playoffs, I just want them far away from the "play in" WC game. I also would want some HF advantage in the playoffs.

It would be nice to see the Yankees get home field advantage, but once the postseason starts the Yankees need to bring their regular season greatness into the postseason. In the postseason, anything can happen (see 2011 for example). Last year on paper the Yankees and Phillies were the better team, but the Cards had their mojo late in the season and brought it with them all the way to a World Series championship.

Sabathia to the DL with "elbow inflammation and pain".

    Not good.
