Holy jesus with the posts Cakes.

I don't get why people don't use standard NFL point systems: 6 points for a TD no matter who or how it is scored.

2 points for ints, sacks and fumble recoveries

I think you are way off base.

First of all, who has 7 catches for 30 yards?
Second, tons of RBs are in the upper rankings of the league in terms of receptions (LT had 100 a couple years ago) so it adds value to both positions. All it is doing is leveling the RB playing field where Shaun Alexander can be the #1 player even though he is one of the most one dimensional players in the league running always to the left and never catching a ball and LaDainian Tomlinson can get 1500 yards and 100 catches.
Third, I think a reasonable catch amount is an average of 5 per game (90 per year) that isn't going to pump up the WR performance that much seeing as most average about 10 points compared to the RBs that average 20.

I just post. I don't care if I write seven posts in a row. Sometimes I consolidate, other times I don't. If it's a big problem a mod can ban me.

When I ran leagues, I'd award 6 points to the player who scored the TD.

If it was a receiving touchdown, the passer would get 3 points.

I always went with 6 for a td regardless. I felt that the QB was just as responsible for the TD as the receiver.

Well, it depends. As long as everyone knows the rules, any league can be fun. I like leagues where every play can be a couple points. My friend's league really has a terrible points system, but it's so much fun because every play means a ton. I don't have the exact scoring system, but...

    All TDs: 10 points.
    INTs: -5
    Sacks: -3
    Completions: 1
    Incompletions: -1
Rushing, receiving, return yards: 10 per pt
    Passing yards: 20 per pt
    Receptions: 1 per pt

I hate the return yards being 10 per pt, but that's my only real problem with it. QBs can have absolutely ridiculous days, but they can also get negative points on a fairly regular basis. Defenses were also penalized harshly for allowing 35 or more points.

I liked it because every time I would watch Sunday Ticket and watch one of my 2 QBs go back to pass, I knew it would be at least a point if he got a completion or he would lose points if it was incomplete.

I had points for completions as well. I believe it was 1 point for every 3 comps.
We also didnt include int's, it was just points for positive occurances

I don't really care about the volume personally because I know you are a quality poster and not just whoring around but those charts are unreadable and I don't think anyone was beating down the door to learn the scoring system of one of your past leagues. :drunk:
