I agree with that. Yesterday was the closest in my entire 18 years of going to Jets games that I have ever come to getting into a fight at the game. I started screaming at the referees for not throwing a flag on the late hit play, and some Redskins fan takes it upon himself to get up and get in my face and start a screaming match with me. If security hadn't come down and taken him out it may have escalated. Prior to that I had absolutely no words or contact with this guy whatsoever, but he decided he would pick a fight with me. The whole game the Skins fans in my section were making a point of rubbing every little thing in our faces, and being sour grapes every time something went the Jets way. After the game was over, walking out of the stadium, a whole bunch of Skins fans were rubbing it in the whole way out that they won, screaming "SKINS SUPER BOWL" and other stupid crap like that. I'm sorry, but yeah, the Skins won. But don't these morons realize they just had a nail biter against a 1-7 team whose only win came against a team with no wins? And a week after getting ANNHILATED by the Patriots? Who the f do these people think they are? As your post suggests, a lot of these people who attend the games are simply tools who get their jollies out of trying to pick fights with the home crowd, something they are more likely to do since they don't need to worry about losing their season tickets if anything were to happen.
Sorry not the classless dirt bags that were sitting in from of me.... Ignorant POS all six of them...non stop smoking for the whole game even after everyone in the sec. asked them nicely to stop. Told security... they did nothing. Thought is was going to get ugly when people started throw stuff at them..... Not to mention the 2 Giants aholes who came to a Jets Game Dress in Giants Garb (Why ???? ) and did nothing but LOUDLY bad mouth and comment every play. Worst crowd in 3 years of sitting in the same section.. And I can only imagine.. it's going to get worse
You almost got into a fight? Wow you seem like a pretty level headed guy. Here is my solution to this, it would work well in the case of the Jets. If somebody who purchased your tickets gets ejected for fighting you should lose your season tickets. It would certainly cut down on these jackasses selling thier tickets to opposing fans.
The Jets claim that they will do this but I have never actually heard of anyone losing their seats before. I guess that could work both ways but still... I don't go to games looking for fights, and I certainly don't appreciate it when fans from other teams do. When I go to Eagles games wearing Jets colors, I sure as hell am not trying to start with the crowd. Simply moronic.
I have Charger season tickets and I almost got into a fight when they played the Jets because some lardass tried to pick a fight with my wife. She is a 105 lb chinese girl. Gotta love Socal assholes.....
I could be wrong, but it has always seemed to me that the level of opposing fan dirtbaggery increases as you get into the higher sections. The worse the seats, the worse the chicanery. Honestly, no hassles in my section whatsoever. It is very annoying when people act like jerks, though.
