Very good observation, he was getting some pressure but without much help it's unwinnable battle.

Getting up the field and applying pressure are 2 different things

Hopefully the douche can show up against his former team. I know Cam Wake will.

Thank you! This has been bothering me for a while. It's so fucking annoying to see Rex bring the heat, but they all rush the same 2 or 3 gaps in the middle and essentially block each other.

Well if we didn't get Taylor I'm going on the assumption that we would've kept Feely, who has made 94% of his FGs caompared to Folk's 72%.

Folk has attempted twice as many FGs though, still goinf off Feely's recent record he would be at least 10% higher.

I think the game that Folk really effected the outcome was the GB game, if he makes that it's a whole different ballgame.

While Taylor has had a major impact on more than 1 game as discussed already in this thread. Going forward if Folk hurts us again I may change my mind but up till now for a guy earning $1.75 million I'm content with his play.

Considering the vet minimum for a player like Taylor is nearly a million anyway I think we're getting our moneys woth.

Taylor has yet to ahve a major impact on a signle game, we are 9-3 w/ or w/o him. He made a nioce play vs. NE but we weere up 14 pts very late in that game, the Cle play was not made by him. It was the QB just trying to get down out of the EZ inbounds to keep the clock running.

I'm not going down this road again, everyone has a different opinion on his impact.

The sack/fumble came on 1st and 10 on our own 16 with 6 minutes to play. Who knows what happens after that. If Taylor doesn't do that TOm could've threw a TD, made it a 7 pioint game with just under 6 minutes to play.

Also agains the Vikings a big sack on their last drive, and the Cleveland play was Taylor. He sacked Colt for a 3 yard loss, forced to punt and we start our OT drive on their 37.

The point is he isn't getting any help. He's not Dwight Freeny or Javon Kearse in his prime. He is an aging vet that isn't going to make plays on his own and dominate a game the way those can and have. Yes he was supposed to produce more but that whole premise is based on the entire D producing more as well as a healthy Jenkins none of which have happened.

The Brady hit came w/ just over 4 misn to play NOT 6 mins.

How was the sack against Minny big? we were up NINE(2 scores) w/ a minute to play and Minny was at theirown 44 w/ NO timeouts. There's no way they have a chance to win that game.

The play in Cleveland was all about the QB trying to get out of the EZ and get down. Taylor didn't do anything on that play.

he has not made a true big play for us all year, the closest was against NE but again w/ 4 mins to play we were up 14 pts.

He's a situational pass rusher that is not applying any pressure at all.

Agree to disagree, the hit came closer to 5 minutes when we started out drive it was just over 4 minutes to play but a minute is not a big deal when dealing with Brady.

I never expected him to come in and be Clay Matthews for us, I'm not insanely happy with him but I'm don't hate him for his play either.

JT is a 36 y.o. DE. Incredibly gifted, He was one of the best when he was in his prime. He hasn't been in his prime for quite some time. You don't sign a 36 y.o. DE unless you are pretty desperate for help. He is a multi-millionaire playing on a short term deal at the end of his career. I am not sure what some folks expected when he was signed, but I frankly didn't expect too much. The saddest part is that even though he hasn't done too much he has still done better in passing situations than the rest of the DL.

In my mind, DL is the biggest priority in the off season.

p.s. We passed on JT in 1997 in order to draft Rick Terry.....

Here we go again. I'm sure all the fins fans get a nice laugh from us, as we do them. Stupid topic.

I was a huge JT hater, but he's proved me wrong, he's been better then I could have ever thought against the run, and while he hasnt been great the last few games, he was a beast the first 5 or 6 games of the season.

Taylor was a 3rd round pick, so obviously this career of his was not expected.

We drafted Farrior that year, Terry in the 2nd, and Ward in the 3rd round after Miami picked up Taylor.

He was good in Colllege but I think playing for Akron hurt his draft status.

We are allowed to disagree w/ each other, I don't take it personally.

Look at the video clip below:

    http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/20100...ab:watch/analyze-channels:cat-post-playbyplay

The ball was snapped at 4:16, Brady was hit at 4:13. That was a nice spin move by Taylor, he did a great job there but was it a truly big play? It could have been but we were still up 14 w/ just over 4 mins to play.

I didn't expect him to come in and play like he did 5 years ago either but as a situational pass rusher I expected him to apply pressure from time to time and he has not done that.

Like I have said over and over he has exceeded my expectations against the run but he was not brought here to defend the run, he was brought here to rush the passer and he has failed at that job.

Taylor has been decent but the opportunity cost of having him on the team is too high; the starting defensive front seven is not young so I'd rather the backups be young guys who might develop into the next Devito and can help on special teams and not older, somewhat marginal players like Taylor and Pryce.

I was off with the time a wee bit, I was too excited to remember that was one of those moments where it's not gay to hug strange men. lol

I hated the signing when it happened, but that NE play made it okay. I do agree he could be getting more pressure but when Pace was out he was playing nearly every down. JT himself said he didn't expect that coming in, and he was also playing hurt and still is.

In 12 games he has 4 sacks, if he were to end the season with 8 sacks would that satisfy you? Or if against the Bears or Steelers he has 2 game changing plays would that be enough to satisfy?

Just Smith has 5.5 sacks, but he's in the middle of a $45 million dollar contract.

JT was beast in the beginning of the season but then he got injured and slowed down. Its pretty much exactly what I expected from a 36 year old pass rusher.

If he gets 8 sacks that means he'd have 4 in the final 4 games so I'd be happy but it's not just the sack #s, it's about pressure and forcing QBs to throw early and into mistakes- he has not done that.

If he has one game changing play against Pitt or Chi I'll be happy and it will have been worth it. I hope it happens.

A beast?:rofl2: Please explain how he was a beast.
