Oh, I didn't know a Gronk type playmaker is available? Obviously coordinators can work playmakers at any position into a schemd. But we're working on 8 months with this coordinator and personnel along with 5 games in and almost 3 months since training camp opened.

There's a reason trades don't happen in this league, and when they do its for something minute like a kicker or a backup at a certain position. You wouldn't trade for a tightend now to challenge the amount of targets Decker and Marshall get with the way the offense is gelling.

I understand the whole devils advocate position you're taking but c'mon dude. It's not like trading for an outfielder in baseball and you slot him in to hit 6th for the next 45 games.

i don't want to make any changes…theres only one football and we do not have the QB to have a 4k yard passer and spread the ball around. Brandon and Ivory are doing there thing….plus every time teams make in season moves, never works out really

Honestly he wouldnt be worth the cap number...Gailey doesn't use TEs in the passing game which I really don't understand but that's another conversation. But I'm sure he would if he had someone not named Jeff Cumberland on the roster

Probably won't happen but Cumberland and Kellen Davis don't strike fear in anyone. Davis has issues blocking let a lone catching the ball... Chan hasn't had much use for TE but he also hasn't really had any to work with over the last several years. When he had a good one with Tony Gonzalez he led the league in receiving so i wouldn't say he wouldn't execute a GOOD te. We just don't have one right now. I would be all for getting Vernon Davis on a friendly type trade.

Most of the throws to the TE would be safety valve-type throws, and therefore, very low risk throws. They could become a valuable part of the offense to help open up things for Marshall and Decker, as well as Ivory.

Just because moves made in season in the past didn't work doesn't mean they wouldn't work now. We had idiots as GMs and HCs before. Now we have two qualified professionals.
